This will be one of the most prepared versions of Maidana we have seen in a while. He will be relentless in there, and hard hitting. For all 12 rounds. What makes you think Broner can last 12?
Maidana's defense isn't stellar, but it has improved. He himself reports that he has improved his boxing, defense, and waist movement, and over the last two fights, I would have to agree.
As for this assertion that Broner will be on his toes boxing off the back foot all of a sudden, if he does he will not be playing into his strength. Anyone that trains knows that what you train is what you are. Broner's style is largely stationary, don't expect different. Any attempts to try a different style won't be as adept, and lets not forget Maidana has been working on a jab, straight right that has quite a bit of range, if Broner decides to back up in a straight line.....
He's definitely gotten better under Garcia but he is who he is. He was very sloppy in the Little Jose fight. He just leaves himself fat too often. I like Chino but I think he will get outpointed but you never know.
Maidana is right however Broner will surprise him. Even though this fight was demanded, being that it's at WW still won't convince me that Broner belongs at that weight.

He will bust his ass preparing for this fight. And he took a while to get there, but that right to the gut, overhand to the temple was picturesque in the Jose fight.
Its not just his defense and boxing, his punch choices and placement have improved as well. I give his emphasis on the jab credit for that. It gives him a better spatial sense in the ring.
