Cotto may be a name as was MOsely but these guys were not in their primes...and no matter how many paper titles or rankings you dress them up with, they were what they were when he fought them.
Cotto is how many years younger than Floyd; but he''s not in his prime but Floyd is do you how ****** that sounds. Nothing blew up in my face you made a dumb ass statement then try to use Victor Ortiz as your reply to a question I didn't ask you.

oh and Floyd wasnt prime when he fought them either no one ever mentions that
cotto was the top name in a weak division--fact. not the toughest fight to be made. see the difference? probably not.

whats ****** is thinking age determines a fighters best form. cotto's birth certificate doesnt tell us if he is in his prime.

Revisionist history at its best. I expected nothing less from "renowned writer" Thomas Hauser.

These aren't fan boys, these are respected boxing writers.
That was true 30 years ago, but technological advancements like the internet provide us with more than enough information as a society to make our own conclusion over Hausers. I'll put it this way, you think today's fan would accept Hausers opinion or interpretation of Floyd, when they can go online and watch all of Floyd's fights. Listen to all of Floyd's interviews, and see the maturation process of him becoming the best and highest paid ATHLETE on the planet?

Notice I said Athlete and not Boxer.

Hausers opinion of Floyd is now minuscule compared to the masses.

I have been critical of Mayweather. Perhaps unfairly.. maybe. The article states what a portion of the boxing public thinks. I feel this way. It doesn't matter whether or not anybody thinks a Paul Williams or Sergio Martinez is a hall of famer. As fans we what these fights. We help pay the salaries and as fans... right or wrong... want to do some match making. Floyd and his fans must deal with the reality of perception. Many think he is or has dodged legit fights that the public wants. Floyd can and always had the ability to make ANY fight that he wanted. If we knew the details of the actual negotiations perhaps we would feel differently. Did he really refuse to meet Sergio at 154, but did with Cotto? Did he make unrealistic demands to Pac? Etc. It is pointless to counter with "Floyd beats them easy... so why make the fight."

Yeah you didn't...we were both talking about VERSTYLE's post and I thought you were backing it but you were referencing the names I said SRL beat not the make up he was putting on the recent names floyd beat.

Of the two mentioned, one guy is in a wheel chair and the other is laid up recovering from injuries. It amazes me how may fans criticize Floyd for what has happen in others careers when clearly if they were all that, they would have been viable option now like a Cotto or Mosley once were. No disrespect to those fighters, but Floyd may have made 100 mil his last fight, and is still the kingpin at 147 and now 154. That doesn't happen fighting scrub after scrub.
