Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr. on The Vera Fight Weight Controversy

Before a crowd of journalists and fans, the son of the legend Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-1-1, 32 KOs) discussed the controversy over the weight limit for his upcoming fight with Brian Vera (23-6, 14 KOs) on Saturday night at the Stubhub Center in Carson, California. The fight had several weights set down, and eventually became bosted to 168-pounds, but now the word is coming down that Chavez-Vera may get a max weight of 173-pounds. The fight weight will not be decided until Friday, when both boxers step on the scale for the official weigh-in.

Chavez you are being pathetic, why don't you say you didn't monitor the weight bro. Whether it's not a championship fight you signed a contract for a certain weight.

            Big Difference

the difference between chavez and Floyd training at 2am is that Floyd goes to gym and bust his ass training ...all chavez does is move his ****** couch to the side and train in the living room !!! I hope Vera gets knock his head off !! :

If Chavez can use almost KOing Martinez as a win, can I use almost having *** with Tila Taquilla as a win? She said no, but I asked tho

Mentally something is wrong with Chavez Jr.

There seems to be some serious problems with Chavez jr mentally. Could it be ADD? Chavez jr. has problems focusing in on things. Chavez's mind set is not right. Is it drugs? Ritalin as a child probably was not available to mexicans. Chavez jr. needs some serious psychiatrist diagnosis and help.

WTF! No sense of regret, at all! It's almost as saying "F you, where's my check! "
I was going for Vera initially, but lack of remorse. Really angers me. No repect for Vera! No repect for the fans!

There really needs to be consequence for fighters not making weight. This is starting to happen way more frequently.

F this 10-20% to the commission and fighter. 50% of the violator's purse should go to the half that met their contractual obligations.
