Let's not confuse "not very strong" with "no punching power." Floyd isn't going to knock you out with one punch but his punches are extremely effective keeping everyone he fights honest. That's why his opponent aren't quick to just rush Floyd.

Let's face it, Floyd is a master boxer, not a knock out king. I don't see anyone in the sport right now that can beat him.

he tried it in a few rounds but couldn't really find mayweather.........mayweather would just smash the jab in his face and move.

people are getting it confused. canelo had the right game plan (sit in the middle of the ring and throw combinations at mayweathers head and body, even his arms) he was not trying to outbox mayweather (this is where people are getting it confused) he was trying to outwork him.........believe it or not canelo had prepared his body for 12 whole rounds and didn't even gas.

he just couldn't double up enough though........in fact he needed to be tripling up those body shots. he had the right idea but just couldn't do it...........

Gotta agree here. I understand you have a gameplan going in but at some point you have to use the advantages you have. Late in the fight he actually did some decent work by getting Floyd on the ropes but he couldn't sustain it. He was never going to beat Floyd by footwork and hand speed. The whole fight I was thinking "what the hell are you waiting for, go for it!!!"
Oh well, Floyd if Floyd and he was the man last night.

And he SHOULD have pressured Mayweather, but the truth is that in the end.. he's not a pressure fighter. Also he looked kinda slim yesterday i think he had a bad condition and he couldnt pull the trigger.
I can't see Floyd putting a rematch clause in his contract if Canelo loses. If he loses, yes, not Canelo. He may fight him again, in a few years, if Canelo improves and again ascend to the top of the boxing world, but there will be no rematch in the near future.

Floyd was a past prime blown up WW. Of course his punches weren't that strong.

Floyd's power was only evident at 130-135. I couldn't see how anyone thought he would have stopped Alvarez.

Canelo, it was more than you "couldn't catch" MW last night -- you were outpunched 2 to 1 and looked clueless all night long -- you fought badly last night and looked a million miles from being a so-called "superstar" -- MW at this point in his career will fight like he did last night -- doing enough to win rounds and then coasting late -- he could have and should have been able to take out Canelo with just one minute of sustained offense but he is now so incredibly cautious and risk averse that he just won't do it unless he feels that a victory may be jeopardy which certainly wasn't the case last night, although they should publically flog the judge that had it 114-114

                    Dude let it go.

GGG needs to get in line, and clear out his own division before he thinks about taking on the P4P king.

That's if you really want to see your middleweight hero getting his ass handed to him by someone who could still fight at 140lb.

Martinez is way ahead of your boy at this stage, so you'll have to keep gargling those nuts for a few fights yet.

He was weight drained, idiot. Cnelo hit him in the body quite often and jabbed him too.
