The problem is that most of boxers are not accustom to defend his views in front of the promoters. I like the way he talk to Arum, straight, simple and clear. Even thought arum destroy his career I like the Cubans with balls to confront the promoters once they are coming with bad deals. If Mexicans, American, Phillipines wants to be humble and make everything the promoters wants they may do it, but this guy has principles, rules and no one can play with him. When a person take a tube and come to EU in a boat has nothing to loose in his life and is proven to the worst. In the worst case he can work easely in Miami and live decent with honor. In calle 8 Gamboa opened a barber shop. He won't be millionaire but he stopped the promoters in the fight with Rios because it has no money and he will live decently with his tiny business. Rigo can do the same, but no one will play with him and he assure respect from the fighters and the promoters. That's the Cuban style guys, respect. If the others wants to be humble is their decision. For sure if he has to start doing other things for his life he will do it, but in front of him you must respect. Rigo already has his name in boxing, better than others losers in Olympics who need fake boxers builders like arum and GB

He was offered a fight but wanted a 3 month training camp instead of the typical 8 weeks and turned it down. Now he can possibly have an opportunity to fight mares and wont even consider budging. He's acting like he has tons of options at 122. If he's as good as he claims he is, what's 4lbs?

He doesn't fight Mares at 126 because he feels good at 122? Then 4 lbs? This is 1.81437 kg...
I suspect Rigo is a stubborn guy. Arum maybe has his point somehow...
