Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux: A Fight With Mares Would Have To Be at 122

WBA/WBO super bantamweight king Guillermo Rigondeaux paid a recent visit to BoxingScene Radio to talk about a variety of topics including upcoming fights in and around his division.

Rigondeaux walks around close to the super bantamweight limit of 122 pounds and made it clear that he won't be moving up in weight anytime soon.

On Saturday WBC featherweight champion Abner Mares face former champion Jhonny Gonzalez in Southern California. Rigondeaux said that if Mares is successful, he would love to face him. He did however say that the only way that fight could take place is at the super bantamweight weight limit. [Click Here To Read More]

If the money is right and that's the only fight you can get you'll change your mind. Catchweight.....124!

Lmao at rigo. Notice how he keeps saying this and that.
Guy is in no position to demand anything.
A name, the weight, the guys promoter doesnt even mention him.
Hbo is done with him , he is blocked from showtime.

The guy needs to just sign and fight two 122 pounders for 25 k on a small card and move on.
P.s rigo, if toubfight for GBP , they will have you fight at 126

To be honest I think Top Rank is trying to starve him into moving up to 126. I think they want the Nonito rematch just not at 122.

Rigod should go to the fight, walk into the ring when the winner is announced and say sign the contract and then we'll see who's the best

I don't see how that's possible, Mares has packed on a lot of muscle, Rigondeaux would have to move up.
