De La Hoya-Hopkins middleweight championship was fought at the 160 limit. It was NOT at a catchweight. Hopkins voluntarily dropped the weight. Also, Hopkins is still fighting at 48 yrs old!!! Hardly the average professional boxer.

Look, if you are crying that Floyd Canelo will be fought at 152, let me say this. Drown in your anger, misery, pissedoffness, jealousy, and emotions because Floyd's fans,
Pac's fans and Margarito's fans are all hypocrites. Your favorite fighters all fought at catchweights, lmfao! Chavez, Cotto, and now Floyd. Man, I'm truly lmmfao at you cry babies. The weight isn't really the issue. You're truly scared for the red head, lmao!

people making a lot out of the catch weight which i normally dont agree with catchweight but he did just weigh in at 153 his last fight so i dont see this as a real big problem. but i see others will use this as the reason if he loses.

He has as 5 less fights than Mayweather does but he lacks experience?

Just like Pacquaio's Cotto victory has a totally pointless asterisk after it due to 145, if Mayweather beats Canelo it will forever have a pointless asterisk after it due to 152.

You can almost guarantee that Canelo moves up after this fight if he loses, and probably moves up anyway if he wins and no rematch is on the cards.
Many seem to forget that Pacquiao and Cotto were both at a disadvantage when they fought back in 2009. Pacquiao never fought a true 147 welterweight before Cotto (De La Hoya fight was at a catchweight too). Whereas, Mayweather already fought at 154 twice against true Jr. Middleweights. So comparing May-Canelo and Pac-Cotto is like apples and oranges.

What Floyd is doing to Canelo is way worse.

Yes because Pac had to move up 2 divisions to 147 to fight Oscar in 2008. His last 2 fights before then were at 130 (Marquez) and 135 (Diaz).

I get what you're saying but going to say it one more time, 47 is an official weight class, therefore, it's not a cw
