Yea I don't get why people are like that! It's annoying as hell lol, I enjoy boxing period and I hope we see more of Matthyse but I also tend to control my initial hype after watching a fight, it's natural to be hyped up after a sensational KO but sometimes people go full ****** if they think you are not on the same hyped level as them, am not going to fully dismiss Danny Garcia and why should I? If the fight is a forgone conclusion then why are they fighting then?

But i wanted to dig deeper into who he is as a fighter. because I've heard people say "Matthysse ko's pac" "Matthysse stops marquez" it seems so many people are putting him on that elite level already with marquez, pac, mayweather.

I know about those 3. i know what their capable of, i know how they take a punch, i know how their skin reacts to shots. under pressure i know how they react & who they are as fighters (especially marquez, who comes back & fights like a psychotic mad man under pressure) I know every & anything about those 3 in the ring because I've seen them in with a multitude of styles.

so I went back and really dug deep with lucas.........i have never really seen lucas hit because in many cases his power defuses his opponents from committing to their punches. in many cases you see guys tailing backwards and hitting lucas with grazing shots, slaps, & shots that don't have as much on it vs if they planted their feet. this is why i think maidana had huge success with lucas in the amateurs because maidana most of the time won't move. he'll stay right in front of you and ****........which brought me to the Vivian harris video (because i was looking to see how his skin reacted to big shots) vivian landed 3 good shots in that fight (hard shots while his feet were planted) and matthysse's right eye was almost shut in the 3rd round.

is matthysse a beast yes. But i don't think he's anywhere near to what people think.

i wouldn't be surprised if garcia caught him with something and put up a serious effort. one thing garcia does well is plant his feet and throw those beautifully timed cork screw punches.
You sound like a major stalker. Garcia was quite lucky Judah doesn't have the killer instinct that he had before or Danny would have been finished in the last3 rounds. If anyone is overrated ... it's Garcia.

Why do people continue to discredit this guy anyway? He just completely destroyed the guy who a lot of people were picking to beat him. They said.. they weren't sold, he's this, he's that. You don't get to where the man is being just a mediocre fighter. Give respect where respect is due instead of sounding like whiny *****es.

he outlanded Alexander (139-116), Judah (165-150, 137 were power shots), Ajose (290-153, 263 power shots), Peterson (32-23), Soto (102-83), etc

he basically outlands every opponent he has faced when the stage is big, and yet he's the guy who has holes in his defense

if lucas is a "limited fighter", so is everyone not named Floyd Mayweather Jr, you guys are just ignorant. it's laughable. he slips and parries, moves his head, the only downsides to his game that I have problems with are that he loads up on damn near every punch when he's at range

            but here's the thing:

nobody (in the GBP stable not named FMJ) at 140 can take advantage of that. Don't say Broner either, he hasn't proven **** at 140.

If you pay attention he actually doesn't get hit much, he catches most shots with his gloves and finishes most of his fights virtually unscathed; I think the compubox numbers just confirm it.
I'm not sure where these "he has no defense" myth comes from...?

he isnt "slick", that isn't his style, but he doesn't get hit with a lot of clean shots, whereas he hits his opponents with clean shots, even "slick" guys

I think speed would be his biggest problem at 140. Someone who is fast enough to land on him and get away, because Matthysse is slow. Even then, they would need a chin or the strength to clinch him inside without letting his hands free.

There's no one like that at 140 though, which is why I'm so confident he'll beat any of the top fighters there. 147, not sure. The power would be there, but he's not big at 140, so he may not be able to take huge punches at welterweight.

People clutching at straws. If you look hard enough for something you'll find it!
It reminds me in a way how so many made a massive deal of Marroquinn landing a counter left hook on Rigondeaux despite him staying upright.
If anything that wasn't a flaw that was exposed, it was a strength.
He did what a pro fighter should when hurt. He created room, landed a beautiful bodyshot then tied his man up and made sure his head was clear.
