Wow, I feel like you're just looking at his close fights and going the other way on them for the sake of making your point.
You think Reggie Johnson beat him? What rounds did you give Johnson? I thought it was pretty clear 114-113 win for Toney, James winning 7 rounds in that fight.
No shame in losing to an all-time great like Jones.
Again, bad style matchup with Griffin, and I thought he beat Griffin in their second bout anyway...
I didn't exactly say DON'T hold it against him...but holy **** if losing to a few guys here and there overshadows world titles in 3 weight classes, 2 wins over an all-time great, one of the strongest resumes today, etc then i'll be damned. You're pretty much speaking in extremes here.

Alright gringo I respect you and all but you're letting your love for toney cloud everything. I gotta admit he is FUN as hell to watch, funny at times, but he's just straight up overated.
First of all, I gave the win to Johnson by a point. He won the first part of the fight, cut Toney up, even knocked him down, but Toney started taking over right at the end. Johnson deserved that decision. Toney's losses to Griffin were close but I still give them to Griffin. His 'win' against Tiberi was also bull****, I saw that fight and Tiberi beat him up from pillar to post. I forgot Drake Thadzi, although I haven't seen the fight I'll take boxrec's word for it.
Now, he got beat by jones an all-timer...all right. He beat Nunn by a lucky punch (Nunn got careless/lazy right at the end), and he NEVER beat Ruiz because it was ruled a no contest so throw that fight out. You have a win against Barkley (good win, not great...barkley's never been a 'great' fighter).
There you have it...overated. No one holds this guys losses against him its sad.

Hasim Rahman is the only guy thats tested the likes of Lennox Lewis, and therefore he is the better of the heaveyweight champs currently.
who has James Toney fought? Apart from a shot Holyfield? i cant wait to see Toney KTFO!! by Rahman. This is not a test for the Rockman, id be suprised if rahman goes the distance. he definatly showed BALLS when he knocked out Lennox

OK Johnson knocked him down bud, and cut him up like no other.
I've seen the Nunn fight. Nunn was unprepared and just got lazy/careless. Mccallum was washed up when he fought Toney the 2nd time, but i'll give him the 1st win.
You're missing the point though. I can sit here and compliment a fighter and not mention ANYTHING about his losses. Losses SHOULD count for something and most people when tey think of toney they think of his wins not his emberassing losses.

I know he was knocked down...is that what you based your fight outcome on or something?
I didn't ask you if you've seen it. I asked you to watch the 9th, 10th and 11th round again and compare them to the 1st 7 rounds. By no means was that "lucky" what Toney did. Don't make excuses about Nunn being unprepared because I can say the SAME thing about EVERY one of JT's losses.
Well you can have a great time measuring a fighter by his losses and the negative areas of his career while I will go with the rest of society and measure a fighter by his successes. Honestly, we all know he's lost before, but so have all great fighters. Get over it.

I just find it funny how people will crucify Roy Jones for losing to Glen Johnson and Tarver (out of his prime) and Toney has losses to Thadzi, Tiberi, Griffin twice (who is a good fighter, not a GREAT one). I guess I see the negative in James Toney because I don't stand for what he says and how he acts in such utter disregard for the sport I love.
