I live 45 minutes drive from Guerrero so he must have been thinking everywhere is like California. Looks like the DA in NY told him, "Dorothy, this aint Kansas anymore!" u are wrong. he will be prosecuted by the ocal authorities. sure the federal government can prosecute them, but they wont. they will probably leave it to nu, which is entirely in their power to do and which they do on numerous occasions. he violated both state and federal law, he can rightfully be prosecuted by both as long as the two laws do not conflict. if they do u go with the federal law over the state. but this is not the case here.

When John Forte got caught with 10 kilos at the airport what body prosecuted him? When what his name got caught at the airport with weed glued to his water bottles label, who threw the case out? If it happens within an airport in this country (from tarmac to the edge of the curb) it's a federal case. The state can announce all the charges it wants, the final say is with the ATF and federal prosecutors.

I live in NY as my profile states. Plaxico's gun was not registered to him so even if he had a license in florida that's irrelevant. They've never said where this gun Robert had was registered, they've only said he's registered to carry in L.A. As a New Yorker I know full well we have gun shows in the state so it is feasible he bought the gun just about anywhere, and he wouldn't be the first. Either way as I stated earlier i'll wait for the other shoe to drop in this case because while the politicians are posturing and ranting the fact of the matter remains they didn't arrest him in midtown they got him at an airport which is a case that's federal not state.

What you guys fail to realize is that having a gun license issued in one state has no bearing on the guns laws in another state. A gun license from one state does not have to be accepted in another state. If you are a legal gun owner and want to travel to another state with your weapon, you better know the laws of the state you are traveling to. New York state DOES NOT acknowledge gun licenses held by persons issued in another state, plain and simple. NYC does not even issue gun licenses to its own residents (except to people working in law enforcement, certain business owners, etc). The gun laws in NYC are the most restrictive in the country and have been this way for quite some time.
