Plax went to jail beacuse bloomberg was running for mayor again. Ghost got caught at a time bloomberg is using his own money to take on the nra across the country. Ghost didn't do anything to go to jail for. But he got caught when the politics of guns is front and center in politics.

I hope he doesn't go to jail. But bloomberg will use this as much as he can.

Wow New York is really clean up its act and reputation, this is very good am impress with this sort of tough law and action regarding guns.

I go to the shooting range all the time....you don't need a license, the gun does not even have to be legal cause they don't check at shooting ranges. All you do is listen to a 5 minute rules speech, they give you a card to keep in your wallet so that you don't have to listen to the rules speech every time and you pay your 14 bucks, setup and shoot.

Well ask your girl since she works for the D.A. who prosecutes crimes committed in airports. Certainly not her bosses. So while yes the D.A. and Mayor have an agenda currently technically this is a federal case. Until and if it is knocked down to a state level then her bosses do the dirt.

The problem is he broke the law by having the gun, i dont see what people dont get about that. Its against the law to have a gun without a license in NY and you face a harsh penalty for it if you do. He has no legal defense to why he broke the law, which he did.

I live in NY as my profile states. Plaxico's gun was not registered to him so even if he had a license in florida that's irrelevant. They've never said where this gun Robert had was registered, they've only said he's registered to carry in L.A. As a New Yorker I know full well we have gun shows in the state so it is feasible he bought the gun just about anywhere, and he wouldn't be the first. Either way as I stated earlier i'll wait for the other shoe to drop in this case because while the politicians are posturing and ranting the fact of the matter remains they didn't arrest him in midtown they got him at an airport which is a case that's federal not state.

Chicago has strict gun laws, it's still the murder capital of the US. New York is not far behind.

you right the problem with chicago is that one of the states that are close to them i can't remember which one doesn't have strict gun laws so people from chicago go over there because its not to far get the guns come back to chicago and kill people.chicago just had 60 murders this past month

He's not going to jail bro..while the district D.A. is talking press about 4 felonies this case technically isn't going to be prosecuted by him because airports operate under federal rules and that's where this happened. Unless the feds knock it down to a state crime it's a federal case and on federal grounds if he bought his gun legally, carried it in a safe manner, and as reported voluntarily turned it in responsibly the court is not going to waste its time and deal with the uproar that will ensue from gun fanatics. The reality is this guy is licensed even if it's another state his saving grace would be if he legally just bought it while in his travels. If that's the case this will be utterly thrown out.

It didn't just happen at the air port unless the air port is the only place Guerrero stayed whilst he was in New York? Presumably he traveled with the unlicensed weapon, the air port is just the place he got caught.

It depends on the state and municipality and in some cases the gun.

Some states don't require you to have licenses, but some do. In this case New York City does.
