it doesnt matter anyways, broner tried to make a fight with abril, he has one lined up. vasquez was an option, should have been discussed imo. but beltran? beltran? no.
So Lundy was a good option but not Beltran who beat Lundy? Riiight.

the guy is doing right, he wants people talking about him, doesn't matter if is good or bad...

it doesn't matter if rees outwitted him with the trash talk, that won't work in the ring, just remember mayorga and de la hoya.

Mayorga embarrassed oscar on the trash talk, only to get koed later in the ring, but oh boy wasn't that hilarious:

"YO SOY EL CAMPEON MARICON DE MIERDA, TU NO ERES NADIE"

I completely disagree, being in the boxing game and business I see and hear trainers, promoters and managers say all the time "Kid is good looking, has a great personality". It sells, if you think it doesn't than you underestimate the impact tv has on boxing. Oscar reached his status because he was a great fighter, but his good looks and personality didn't hurt him...lol

Mayweather doesn't have the female audience Oscar had nor does he have a "fan-friendly" style like he did either.

Let's not forget he tried to go down that route being the "Good guy" and it wasn't working, frankly.

Mayweather's key to success is the fact that everyone wants to see him lose because they can't stand his arrogance. Add in the fact that he has this unbeatable persona where one of the main questions in Boxing is "Who can beat Mayweather?". He needed to be a villianous character for it to work.

If or when Mayweather loses, he loses all of his marketability at the exact same time.
Maybe, maybe not, we will never know because the real Mayweather surfaced and his little fits on espn showed his true colors.

u can disagree all u want but its the case. mayweather would have never had a **** load of mexicans and women rooting for him, hes just not that. i dunno where u were when oscar was the guy but, him and mayweather are completely different.

oscar's mother's health, winning the gold for her, and his appeal to teenage girls were unique in boxing. the teenage female market was untapped before oscar and hasn't been retapped since he left.
