I would have really liked to see him fight MP a few years ago but not now as they have both diminished recently (although FMJ seems to be hanging in there longer than MP) and I don`t reckon it would be either of their best performances now....still would be intrigued to watch them fight though I guess just for the what if factor.

For some reason I would like to see FMJ fight JMM again but that is more out of curiosity just to see how JMM has really improved and who better to test his new found energy and longevity in the game against than FMJ....FMJ completely shut him out last time around I am am wondering if the new improved dedicated version of JMM could make it closer and more competitive or whether styles do make fights and his brilliance is only against MP as he knows him like the back of his hand.

At the end of the day FMJ isn`t in his prime any longer and any fight could take his zero and if that were to happen then I don`t think any of the current crop are worthy enough to have FMJs zero on their resume (i.e Canelo et al).

I wouldn`t blame FMJ for taking easy (but challenging enough for a show) fights just to get some more large pay checks before he does finally call it a day. Martinez is low reward but high risk for him, Martinez is too big and if FMJ were to fight and beat him it would go down in history and seal his legacy as an ATG for sure (actually high reward in a way but the risk to accomplish this reward is way too high with the odds against)....FMJ v Martinez....who would be the favourite at which agreed upon weight do you think? The higher the weight it would have to be Martinez and the lower the weight it would have to be FMJ I guess (in which case high reward and lower risk lol).
i could do a floyd jmm2 or floyd canelo in azteca. I know its almost logistically impossible for HBO but The atmosphere would be incredible.

Best thing he could do is retire. His comeback has been an absolute sham and a rip off for those that have lined this mans pockets by purchasing his PPV's. 5 years and not one meaningful fight and didnt give the public the fight they wanted, a ship that has now sailed.

Junior Gong.....you were on here a week or two ago, saying Sergio deserved a Murray like fight after the run he's been on lately. But lately he's fought Dzinziruk, Barker, Macklin, and Chavez......

And than you say Floyd's return fights have been crappy. Marquez, which was crap at the time it was fought, doesn't look so bad now after what he's done in his other 2 fights at WW. Mosley, everybody and their brother wanted that fight when it happened, I mean do we need to bump all those threads from Late 2009/Early 2010 again??? Ortiz was the #2 WW, and Cotto was the #1 SWW.

I mean how can you praise fighting Dzinziruk, Barker, Macklin, Chavez, and Murray....than say fighting Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz, and Cotto is crap. It's just funny, that's all.

Floyd has been getting a lot of attention since Pac was knocked out.

Who should he fight in your opinion? First he should move to 160 fight Martinez, then fight, Ward, skip up to heavyweight and fight the Klitch bros, anything else would be a duck

Who should he fight right this minute? Guerrero, but after being away for awhile he should just fight Canelo according to BoxScene/Pacfans or move up two divisions lmao

Will Floyd win? If he does, it doesn't matter, excuses will be made, Guerrero will be called not legit, Canelo will be wet behind the ears, Martinez will be weight drained, etc excuses will always come from morons

Floyd is at the age where he can turn old at any time.

Who can take him right now? Anyone, it takes one good shot, but if he is the same, no one imo
its pointless acting like he can make 160 is a joke

TBH, there's not a single fight atm he can take that would make me go WOW.

Because every potential opponent has negatives.

Canelo, is still green as far as opposition level.

Martinez will be 38, and if he comes below 160lbs, I believe he won't be at his best.

Pacquiao will not be the same fighter anymore.

                Cotto rematch is history now.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but Guererro HAS looked good recently, and Floyd IS getting old. It's a good fight, I'm satisfied.

I'd still prefer Canelo based purely on talent, Id love that matchup, but this is fine.

This thread should be aimed at boxing fans not Mayweather fans. Floyd fans are pleased just because he's Floyd Mayweather and will co-sign any move he makes.

                  Anyway, in order of preference:

                  (1) Sign to fight Sergio Martinez.
                  (2) Rematch Marquez at 143lbs
                  (3) Sign to fight Pacquiao in late summer.
                  (4) Fight Austin Trout in May
                  (5) Fight Tim Bradley at a catchweight.

                  (6) Forget Guerrero and Canelo until 2014 or late-2013 at the earliest.

Pretty basic stuff really. Martinez is fighting regularly against decent opposition in his weight class and isnt charging the earth for the privilige of watching him fight. He has also had wear and tear injuries to deal with, but has kept fighting.

As far as rankings go, the overwhelming majority of boxing fans know that rankings are a complete joke and the only people that point to them are defensive Floydiots. As far as Marquez is concerned, no Floyds win doesnt look any different just because Marquez has done well recently. He had never been anywhere near welter at the time and Floyd stiffed him on the CW anyway. He has grown into the weight and got used to it so thats a silly point to make, and Cotto? Yeh, he looked like a killer at LMW...smh....the guy was never the same after Marg and Pac.

Really dumb stuff from you 4C, Your normally a little better than that.

That's because he can't get 500k, let alone a million people to pay to see him fight. If he could, he'd be on PPV every time.
