Toney or Wlad

I'll take Wladimir over fatboy Toney any day of the week. It's a shame some of you here believe Toney to be a viable heavyweight. He hasn't even cleaned up the worst HW division of all time, and he's the next big thing since fckin Mike Tyson.

he hasnt had a chance to clean up the divison. he took out john ruiz. just didnt get the belt b/c of that BS piss test. he will be WBC champ when he out boxes rock on march 18

I would NEVER compare Toney to Tyson... wow, that's doing Iron Mike a horrible injustice.

As for who would win? Wlad. Hands down. He's the bigger man, the bigger puncher and has the more dominant jab. For Christ's sake his jab is as powerful as most heavyweights right hooks. If Wlad does the "huggy bear" routine like he did with Sam Peter then I see him winning by UD. If he goes aggressive then I see Wlad winning by KO in the 3-4 round.

Toney stands no chance against Wlad. And to those saying Wlad still has a glass chin... did you even watch the Sam Peter fight? He took three massive blows and still got up from each and every one of them to get the win.

James Toney has been matched against fighters bigger than him for a long time . u act like its something new. Wlad would easily get out boxed and toney would win UD. Wlad has 3 punches the jab,left hook and right hand............... u think toney would get hit by that ****? lol toney wins UD

Unless Toney is getting into the best shape of his life for this fight then I see the fight going one way. A very predictable way at that.

Wlad slams the jab into Toney's face and keeps following up with the one-two combos untill he wins by UD or lands a really flush shot to put Toney down for the count.

The only way Toney can win this fight, in my eyes, is to just go balls to the wall and smother Wlad from the beginning like Corrie Sanders did. However, I feel Sanders has more power at that weight than Toney so I doubt that would work as effectively.

i dont think its about hitting wlad hard. I think its all about hitting him consistently to discourage him. I think toney would make this a easy fight

That might have been the case a year ago, but since Wlad has Emanuel Steward in his corner now, I doubt we'll ever see him get discouraged in a fight again. The man was dropped three times by Sam Peter and got up every time to carry out his game plan. That says everything. He's learned to pace himself ( one of Emanuel's early comments about Wlad is that he was fighting like a lightweight with his punch output and ring movement ), fight even smarter and use his freakishly dominant and powerful jab to even greater effect.

Sorry... I just don't see Toney having a snowballs chance in hell as of right now.

No doubt, Toney has the best counter punch in the game there's no denying that, but how will that help him when Wlad keeps him out of range with his jab all night?

I'll give Toney two advantages right now. His supernatural Ali/Roy Jones ability to dodge punches and his counter punch.

Wlad has size, power and an undeniable record. While not as top notch as Toney he still has enough to be able to box effectively. Add Emanuel Steward into the mix and I see Wlad becomming, essentially, the new Lennox Lewis.

That... and I feel that Wlad is the hungrier fighter coming into the fight. Just my opinion though.
