Agreed, as brutal as the ko was, Pac was close to taking out Marquez. Im a Marquez fan but I don't hate Pac and I call it like I see it. Everytime they meet it could go either way.

It was like that for the first 4 fights, but from now on I think that KO is in Pacs mind. Especially if he gets the upper hand in the next fight, he'll remember that it was exactly when he started to get the upper hand that he last got knocked out. Because of these thoughts he'll remain cautious. The 5th fight will be boring. Marquez by decision

Let's be real, Marquez landed the punch of a lifetime one which he was willing to take an a ss whopping just to land..can he do it again? Maybe, is it worth the risk? NO!! He was very close "by his own admission" to being stopped for good in that fight too..does he win the same way? No! I highly doubt it, infact i'll say Manny going in on 1-2 attacks..back out..1-2, back out..beats up Marquez badly which he was doing until he got too comfortable and jumped in. I think Pacquaio is just as responsible as Marquez for that end result.

True, Manny literally jumped into that punch. JMM was literally one solid left hook from being but away. But he still had the wits to counter Manny's hop step. That said, Manny has a little left. And he shouldn't go out on his face like that..lol. I see Arum trying to have him back before the summer but Manny shouldn't fight til atleast September. Then take an easy one and then one last big fight.

Nice post. I think Manny is done and to match him up with Marquez again is selfish and a definite money move. The only one thinking about Manny's health is his wife and kids. Marquez been had Manny's number but didn't quite perfect it until the 4th fight and now that he has the blue print Manny is going down again but maybe even quicker. Freddie Roach can't improve Pacquiao at this stage and couldn't do it against Marquez for 4 fights, 12 years and 3 weight classes. I say rematch Bradley, get the belt back and call it a day or become a big name gate keeper.

How can I hate Pacquiao when I never even met the man.

I never labeled myself "boxing guru" but everything I have been saying about Marquez/Pacquiao came true with exception to the 6th round KO.

Hopefully Manny can bounce back but if they put him in the ring with Marquez after his KO lay off, then he is going back to sleep. His best move is to rematch Bradley. Funny people say "Manny was winning the fight before he got knocked out" Ha ha ha ha! Dude got knocked out, he lost.
How can you give Manny points for almost winning when he got knocked out in the same round he was dominate in? That's even worst.

Duran and Lewis, just to name a few, came back from devastating KO's. I'm pretty sure Manny can too. As much as I have disliked Pacquiao for years, it'd really be a shame if he hung up the gloves on that note, he and his (real) fans deserve better. I think he beats everybody besides Marquez or Floyd like KrisSilver said. He can beat the stuffing out of Rios and probably look great. He can also take a Bradley fight and see what transpires out of that. Let's look at the facts, Pacquiao was looking pretty good until Marquez caught him, nobody else is probably gonna come close to stopping Manny. Let's remember that Marquez has spent a good portion of his life obsessed with beating Manny, he didn't lose to just any old opponent.

Wrong about Lennox.

1-The Mccall Ko was not devastating at all. He made the count and to this day it was debatable weather he could have continued. It was a straegtic error and he fixed his way.

2- Lewis was actually done after Rahman I. That Ko+age+his addiction to food in the later stages of his career ruined him.
Rahman II, Tyson and Vitali were won on sheer blood and guts. Lennox was never the same after Rahman I, he was always going to retire after that knock out, the only reason he won in such AMAZING FASHION for RAHMAN 2 was because of Lennox's courage.

Lennox Lewis was in serious decline after Rahman I, but still won due to his surreal heart, iron will, and unbelievable courage. I never seen a comeback like Lennox's after Rahman I.

Slow, shot, and half a corpse Lennox Lewis still managed to avenge his defeat and destroy Rahman. A even more shot version dominated Tyson and the MOST shot version tko6ed a PRIME Vitali.

Lennox Lewis was done after Rahman I, he won the next 3 matches due to sheer courage, will power, heart, and desire.

Pacquiao got his ass knocked out of this universe. He is not invincible and Marquez proved that the media hyped Pacquiao up. Marquez over came that left hand you hollering about and Pacquiao got creamed with the right.
