I wondered about this myself. I think cotto was clearly getting tired and the fight almost looked like it would take a turn like the first one did. BUT cotto was using a slightly different strategy which makes me think he might not have fallen to the pressure again. I'm gonna have to say I don't know. I'm glad cotto got the win though.

had the eye not been ruined prior to the fight , i believe 100%, margo would've beaten cotto once again in the rematch...

          Negative..

The eye didn't affect Margarito's style..it was exactly the same..arms low to avoid body shots, letting shots land at will to his iron jaw (and eye)..and smiling while pushing forward and throwing a lot of punches at good angles..that was his biggest downfall, he wouldn't adapt, while Cotto did..he changed his game plan by staying off the ropes and clinching when he needed to, he even had moments where he physically pushed Margarito back..

If the eye was ok, Cotto would've still clinched and kept it in the center more and cruised to a UD..One things for sure..nothing Cotto threw would hurt Margarito at all..it was just a matter of winning the rounds and getting the W for him..

ofcourse it did'nt but it affected margo's effeciency and time to do his thing..i did'nt see cotto adapting **** , it was exactly just like the first fight but one thing that obviously affected the outcome was margo's condition...even cotto i think knew this..

So you watch the 2 fights and see them identical?..

I don't know what to tell you then bro..because they were very different..Cotto practically pitched a shut out in the 2nd fight and the first fight was a WAR rounds 1-9 until the tide drowned Cotto and Margarito broke him down..

The 2nd fight Cotto did not spend more than 3 seconds on the ropes, actually clinched, and pushed off on Margarito..he landed combos, moved and actually kept his jab going..which was probably the biggest difference..between the 2 fights..

cotto was saved by the ringside doctor, cotto always had the tendency of fading in the final rounds and that's exactly what happened. the 2nd fight was almost a replay of the first fight, lucky for cotto it was held in his adopted city at MSG, margarito might have made the comeback of a lifetime if the ringside doctor did not force the stoppage

The fight was not similar to the first. Cotto was much more on the move, didn't sit on the ropes (which is where Margarito does his best work), and even up until that ninth round, Cotto's face wasn't as busted up as it was in the first fight. The first fight was a war with Margarito actually winning rounds and taking a lead towards the end. The second fight was Cotto way ahead with Margarito winning two rounds at best (and not very convincingly).
