If Berto had his arm wrapped outside Guerrero's then it's pretty clear who was doing the holding.

Berto was holding, and trying to use that to get the ref to break it up to give him the advantage. Because he would only hold one arm though, the ref correctly let them keep fighting with Guerrero punching away with his free arm. Berto sucks inside though, and tried to tie up in all his fights to 1: get a quick rest and 2: get the ref to break it up so he can get back outside without having to fight inside. He has always initiated clinches. It's part of his style. Guerrero very smartly used it against him, probably from watching plenty of the Collazo tape, and din't allow the ref to get in and break by punching with his free arm.

As to the head butts, elbows, low blows etc, it happens in a rough and tumble fight. Berto landed a fair few hefty rabbit punches too, and it was Berto initiating most of the holding, hence why Guerrero was punching and Berto was doing nothing but hoping the ref would break them.

If Berto could have won it easy any way, he would have. That's like saying "If Guerrero had let Berto punch him in the face without trying to defend and without punching back, then Berto would have won easy bro!"

It's that simple. If Berto would have won some other way, without Guerrero fighting back, then he would have, but guess what, it's a fight and there's two guys fighting and one guy doesn't always fight the way his opponent wants him to to get any easy win. Guerrero won because he's more versatile. Simple as that.

Robert even threw multiple Punches after the final bell. The reff should have took control of the fight in round one. Robert did what he had to do, im not blaming him at all. I blame the ref. Robert also thumbed Berto on purpose. If it was a stand alone foul, maybe it would b considered. An accident, but when you add it to punching after the bell, low blowing punches, holding and hitting, head butting and throwing elbows, it becomes very clear, Robert cheated his way to victoy. I know some of hou are blind to the rules of boxing and will label me with negative names but everything that i stated in this thred is fact.
Green K sent. Berto was dirty too, but it seemed more retaliatory because Guerrero came out and just initiated a street fight from the first round. Hell, he knocked Berto down by HOLDING AND HITTING and the ref didn't do ****.
I enjoyed the fight, but truly it was one of the dirtiest fights I've seen in a long time and it annoyed me how much Guerrero got away with, the ref just had no control whatsoever. Guerrero should've got docked points for blatantly IGNORING the final bell and continuing to throw power shots at Berto.

Guerrero fought rough and aggressive but he didn't foul.

Berto was doing most of the holding and he was deliberately hitting Robert on the back of the head.
Didn't foul? He scored a knockdown by holding behind the head and landing three heavy hooks, what the hell is wrong with you?

Not to mention he continued throwing punches after the final bell - for about 7 or 8 DAMN SECONDS. And it wasn't the only round where he ignored the bell. Berto threw after the bell too a few times. I think they were both fighting dirty. But I think - hell I know that Guerrero initiated it most of the time, was way dirtier with his head and held and hit more (at least Berto was trying to flurry off the ropes instead of throwing constant shots while holding like Guerrero did). Berto was actually trying to get the ref to make a clean a fight. Guerrero was happy to fight and scrap in a street fight.

I preferred Ortiz-Berto, cleaner fight. But it was an entertaining fight that felt like a throwback to the fights of the 40s or 50s.

Him ignoring the bell at the end was a very blatant foul. Unbelievable actually.
