That one Kessler nutthugger with the old guy in his avatar & Tunney (Freedom.) should be here any second now to assist in backing your argument up. Seeing as though they spend 90% of their posts on boxingscene railing against these type of cheap tactics.

Quite a racist place, these forums. I find it funny more than anything else.

Guerrero fought rough and aggressive but he didn't foul.
Berto was doing most of the holding and he was deliberately hitting Robert on the back of the head.

And lets throw in that Bradley's head has been such an issue that the ref's even mention it in the locker room/pre-fight instructions, not to mention it's pretty much his calling card whenever a fight of his is approaching. Ward? Nah, he just knows how to effectively maul a fighter, and does it in a far more "cleaner" manner than B-Hop.
Personally for me the little tricks dont bother me(hitting on the thighs, holding and going to the body), thats just part of the game. But holding behind the head to let off a series of blows DOES bother me, and sending 3-5 good shots after the bell DOES bother me. Even low blowing to get yourself outta trouble bothers me. To me, thats just going too far.
Whats funny is I see alot of praise for Robert, and the nasty tactics he used last night(Berto was guilty of some himself, but Robert DID make it that kind of fight, and the ref somewhat allowed it), but when Floyd cold ****ed Victor for being a dirty mvther****er, you coulda swore that Floyd had reveiled himself as the anti-Christ himself, from the posts on here. I find that odd.

Outstanding "fight" by Robert! He took the fight right to Berto who had no answers on how to slide off the ropes other than a few good upper cuts Robert took the play away and outscored Berto "easily"! The only fouls I saw wre Berto intentional rabbit punching the neck and back off Roberts head when his forehead was pressed against Bertos left shoulder. Robert cuffing Bertos head cvame long after the rabbit punches were thrown.
What everone witnessed was an old school take "the play away" and smoother the "boxer" and kick his butt! No offense to Berto (I like the kid) but he was in with a man who came to win!!! This is whats known as the stronger "will" to win, won!!
No crying about fouls Berto started it its no big deal, the ref is a very experienced man who let them fight it out because he saw Robert impose his will on Berto and Berto needed to answer and couldn't so why penalize Robert for taking the fight over!!!
What this young man did is show the fans how you deal with a guy who needs room to operate!!! You smoother him, beat him to the punch, and back him up!!!
This guy was a "feather" 2 years ago?????? Outstanding job and a well deserved victory. I enjoyed the hell out of that bout and if you were there inperson you got some serious excitement thrown at you!!
I love a boxing match that has a fight in it!!
As for that guy Lambley he is a jerk, knows nothing about the fight game and should be analizing amatuer bouts because he only knows boxers!!! He can't see the "steps" the measuring involved with being an agressor and smoothering your opponents options. He's like the fans who can't see the "science" that Lamotta and Marciano & Dempsey employed because their weren't stand up moving boxers! Words like "crude" are an insult to a master fighter who positions his oponent by hitting him and pushing him where he wants him! Great fight exciting to watch, so thats two good bouts in two weeks. Boxings on a roll!!! Ray.Last edited by Ray Corso; 11-25-2012, 12:02 PM.

Berto's eye injury was caused by thumbing... once again, illegal
several headbutts... once again... illegal
It's nearly impossible to judge intent on any headbutt, unless it's a Golota/Ortiz esque thrusting headbutt. But they mainly happened because, like Ward/Bradley, he darted in with his head low to hold (once again...illegal)
Personally, i don't give a shit about any of this, because at the end of the day it's a fight. But i find the hypocrisy hilarious, of certain posters picking and choosing which foul-laden victories they want to celebrate/condemn.

You never said anything about Kessler-Ward and Berto-Zaveck, but you're crying about Berto-Guerrero (even though Berto was the one holding and rabbit-punching).

But suddenly a foul-laden victory is just fine & dandy in your eyes. Gee, i wonder why.

guerrero deserved the win.. but he made the fight ugly at times. Even though he got the kds... berto was the one trying to hurt his opponent... the ghost just didnt want to deal with the hand speed. molina vs kirkland all over again. guerrero was punching for the judges and berto was punching for the ko.
