Did it ever occur to you that his slide in the later rounds was a direct result of his injury? Just because he didn't play it up and wince every time he had to lift his arms doesn't mean it wasn't serious.

      2 things...
-he probably knows better than any of us about the possible dangers facing his boxing future had he continued the fight. Being that he's a doctor and knowledgable about sports fitness, I'd listen to him before I'd listen to a whining fan that wants to see a boxer get seriously hurt. Didn't he say that he'd be back and he'd be the HW champ of the world?
-no one knows what he was going through but him. Simple as that. no one will EVER know either. If you're in the ring and you get hurt, I'd say it's best to try not to show it. If you show it and your opponent recognizes it, then they'll really pour it on to try and take advantage and finish you off... mind games in the ring.

To me that makes you a quitter.
There were actually 3 rounds left.

You dident get my point, my point was he would never give upp a fight he couldent lose if he wasnt realy hurt.

He could just stand there eating punches and still win, and it was for a tittel, seriously he must have been hurt.

Good point by PNO. Klitscko is a qualified doctor and he should know even above his corner the ramifications of continuing with such an injury. There were three rds to go. In three rds if you can not protect yourself properly you are at more risk. Don`t say that Byrd isn`t a puncher he wouldn`t be able to hurt him, it is boxing, any punch to the head can kill. And if he had pulled more and more at the injury ( shoulder ) he may have damaged it to such an extent he might have damaged his career.

to add to that in agreement with you...
if someone tries to punch you, what's your reaction?
to PUT YOUR HANDS UP and QUICK!!!
even if you're injured, it's prolly impossible to stop the automatic reaction.
doing that with a torn rotator cuff is probably not a good idea.

Rahman doesn't get dishearted. I think this fight will be Vitali's toughest yet. Still, my money's on Klitschko. He just has too much to offer in his arsenal that Rahman can't match.

Did noone listen to the guy that understood germen? Klit quit and thats it! How many other fighters fought threw a injury? Holyfield, Even danny "the tomato can" Williams fought threwout an injury.

A real champ would go down swinging, not crying over a hurt shoulder.

                Did Vitaly redeem himself, YES

Are you kidding? Did any other great fighter look at something like that and quit?

How would you feel abaut ali if he quit against norton after suffering a broken jaw because it would ruin his carrear? Thats what makes good fighters great
