do you think cotto was drained for his fight with clottey?

    yes or no???
Nahh, the answer is in this question. Do you think training to 147 is the same as training down to 145? It's real, real simple.

All this was validated in the fact that Pac demanded a weight stipulations in a rematch with Cotto. Then again, rumor is that Pac had no problem with the weight but that it was the extra testing that Cotto demanded....
Cotto had trouble making welterweight? Where did you hear that from?

Not only has he never failed to make weight but he looked better at 147 then he ever has at 154, and he's tiny for a jr middleweight. Floyd looked bigger than him when they fought. He even wanted a 150lb catchweight against Margarito for his own belt.

The only time I know cotto had trouble making weight was at 140.

However, 2012 does make Pacman/Cotto & everything about that match-up seem suspect. I find it to be obvious that Pacman won't fight Miguel Cotto healthy. That has to say a lot about this particular match-up, if we're being honest.
You have to understand how Roach thinks. Listening to him (former coach of Hoya), had me convinced that Pac would destroy Hoya. Roach wouldn't have ever let Pac in the ring with Hoya if he was actually dangerous. Roach knew what was up and didn't need a weight stipulation. They demanded, cried and begged for a weight stipulation for Cotto from the very start. The sad part was that Cotto was officially coming off the worst beating of his life, no coach and could have very well lost to the **** fighter that is Clottey.

Cotto had to look his worst in order for Pac to fight him. Just like Mosley or even JMM (at WW). Not to mention Hatton, Clottey and Margarito.

Pac's entire career since beating Cotto at a catchweight is garbage and suspect. Only thing that favors him is the Bradley fight and even then Bradley wasn't even a WW but somehow Bob still has himself an undefeated fighter.

I said years ago that Pac would become a joke. Some people just needed 2011 and 2012 to see it. I called it back in 2009.

When's the last time you heard of a fighter who had trouble making 147 ask for a 150 lb catchweight for his own belt?

You know who has trouble making weight? Brandon Rios.

Can you imagine if he moved up to 140 and asked for a 138 catchweight?

              lol...

Weight was only part of it but the majority, i feel, was that pac was all "geeked" out of his mind and Ariza became a superstar with him.

He was not drained to make welterweight.

I agree, but what about the 145 cw?

personally i dont think he was drained, just look at him at the weigh in and his performance against pacquiao.

however, pacquiao and his team denying cotto the right to weigh in at 147 was pretty pathetic and the sort of thing to expect from them.

Yeah, I don't do the (eye test). That don't tell me much. What I do look at is the fact that Pacman even NOW, won't fight Cotto without a mannyweight.
