man Manny does catchweight for the same reasons Cotto asked Margarito for a catchweight its unnecessary and done to weaken/drain opponent that's why Cotto asked Margo for it that's why Manny always asks for it.

both Sergio and Williams fought at 154 only reason that fight was at MW is because crooked WBC forced him to vacate his 154 belt to give it to Pacquiao and Williams still got lot of hate for it.
now Manny on the other hand asks for catchweight based on how good the opponent is for example Mosley who was #1 WW and WBA champ was asked to come in at 142 and Cotto the #2 guy was asked for 145
also Manny Paquiao was looking for Money fights against Mayweather we all knew he would stay at WW even had his opponents already lined up in Margarito and Clottey
