Intreresting theory. Trouble is, Gamboa is at least as likely to win, slowing the Broner hype train.

Its 50/50 for me but if you just look at what on paper will seem like a for sure win for Broner.

Gamboa been inactive comming on a year now, Jumping 2 weight classes to 135 and is only 5'5 and the variable is we dont know how and if his speed or power will carry with him to 135.

Broner has been active, been ready to fight at 135, is 5'7, and has power and speed to match gamboa if gamboa can brings that speed and power up to 135 with him.

So on paper all the advantages are for Broner.

Offense can get shut down with movement and feinting. Marquez doesn't have a great defense but subtle movements at the right time diminished Pac's offense greatly, it's gonna be the same thing for Gamboa/Broner. You can't just come forward in straight lines and throw half ass jabs while waiting for an opening and expect to beat Gamboa.

Adrien would likely respect Yuri's power, so he would be fairly conservative. It would be interesting to see how Broner copes with perhaps the first fighter he's faced that's faster than himself.

You can't discount Adrien's size, however. At 135 he would be closer to his natural weight, while Gamboa would be approaching his maximum. How would that affect Yuri's speed and movement? Hard to say. If those advantages are blunted, it could be a game changer.
I don't think weight would be an issue, Broner is bigger but I'm not sure he hits harder. Gamboa would probably weigh in at 133/134 so he'll be comfortable in the ring.

If you read my previous posts on this thread, you'll see exactly what I think of each fighter's respective advantages. We agree on some things, but not on others. Besides, there's no such thing as a "sure thing" in boxing, especially when the perceived advantages are "on paper."

Further, if this fight is made, it won't necessarily be Gamboa's first since his little hiatus. In fact, it probably won't be. And the weight hasn't been confirmed yet. The fight may or may not take place at 135.

Obviously I'd love to see it, but it's premature and unrealistic, neither guy has even had a single fight at 135lbs yet.

If it eventually happens, Broner gets F'd in the A.

Fighting at 130, Broner re-hydrates to somewhere in the mid-140s. That would mean a significant weight/size advantage versus Gamboa. As I said earlier, I think their power is comparable.

True, but my post was more for the prespective of how GBP are looking at the fight, not really my opinion. Just posting how easily it will be for them to reason why Broner will win.,

C'mon, Reed. Half the threads here are about premature/unrealistic topics. Why can't we dream about this little match-up?

Fair enough. So what's your opinion?
