I love the double standards on this forum. I'm not trying to defend a mistake made by Broner, but people are just hilarious on this forum. Not to mention, Escobedo has been a big lightweight the vast majority of his career up until his last three fights where he's been campaigning at 130, so it's not like he's going much smaller then Broner. 3.5 lbs won't make much of a difference at all, and Broner's been saying this is his last fight at 130.
That being said, if he had problems making the weight his team should have spoke up unless they didn't weigh him beforehand. Either way, on fight night they should be re-hydrated to a roughly equal weight because Escobedo is a big guy himself for this weight. This fight should have been made at lightweight to begin with, I think both guys would of probably been more comfortable, but now we have this unfortunate situation.
So you want the WBO junior lighweight title fight fought at lightweight?

But according to E, looks like Broner's not even making any effort on the new proposal, haven't heard from his team. Looks like he's treating this one as a "take it or leave it" thing, despite the impending lawsuits and contract breaches (if there are any in clauses) if the fight don't happen.

But Broner might get some if he atleast tried to lose weight.

The main problem here is not that Broner is at his minimum weight, but that he signed a 130 fight when he couldn't make that weight anymore. You can't make 130? Then just don't fight at 130, period.
