Which is why Arum put down the big money. He's the only 1 that can force Vanes to get the ginger fight with the wbc.

These are the options they are talking about for this showdown:
Bob Arum said Lara-Martirosyan could land on either Top Rank's Sept. 15 card featuring RING middleweight champion Sergio Martinez and WBC beltholder Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., the Oct. 20 clash between WBO junior featherweight titleholder Nonito Donaire and four-division titlewinner Jorge Arce, or what is expected to be a Nov. 10 welterweight rematch between Manny Pacquiao and either Tim Bradley or Juan Manuel Marquez.

"Those are the three possibilities" for Lara-Martirosyan, said Arum.

I would put it on Sept 15th card and since Rigo is fighting there, Arum might attract more Cubans. But the Donaire-Arce one wouldn't be bad either since it's in Texas and Lara is based out of Texas now.

Why would Arum care about Cubans on Sept 15? There aren't really many Cubans to attract for it to be worth putting two of them in the in the main undercard. And enough with the Cubans. It's bad enough that Rigo is on it the card in the first place because Mexicans hate the Cuban amateur style. It's a Mexican holiday. The undercard needs more Mexicans. All they have is Alvarado so far. At least Golden Boy is keeping up with the theme on their show.

Vanes vs Lara make a good main event or co-feature on regular HBO.

Indeed, it would disappoint me to say the least.

I truly hope this fight goes through. If Lara wins he'll claim a nice scalp and take a much needed step forward in his career. It'll be particularly nice if they can make this fight on the undercard of a big PPV. I've got my fingers crossed....
                      Jcc martinez undercard!!!
