they're not going to match him with erislandy lara (who you all **** on for his fight with hernandez, [where he looked fine for a guy who was a year out of the ring save half a round,] for the record,)
you dont make any more money. you arent going to look great when/if you win.

get over it and stop whining. if lara made floyd mayweather dollars then they'd match him with lara next year (i believe floyd and canelo are going to fight in '13,)
mayweather jr would still beat the dogsh#t out of lara, and they won't "duck" him.

I mean, I can agree with most of what you're saying about bringing up a potential cash cow, keeping it light, but progressive in their development.

I can't decide if the timing is too much for Josesito because his face was still a little messed last week on FNF. I like the idea of fighters getting another big shot after pulling off the upset, but I think we all want the field to appear be somewhat level.

There were a lot of things that made the Ortiz-Lopez fight intriguing going in for those familiar with Lopez as I know u were. Your are right about Ortiz fight night weight and how it might translate to a Canelo fight...but Victor had been hurt down at 140, and I didn't think Lopez would be too badly outgunned at 147 because of his frame/length. On top of that, it was somewhat of a regional matchup and those are always rough...and Victor is a headcase. None of those elements exists in a Canelo-Lopez fight, and now he is coming off a war.

I guess it really doesn't matter at this point, because the alternative seems to be Mayorga....considering Shane was his last fight, I think Mayorga adds more to his bottom line by simply having that name on his resume while testing his chin against at bigger framed guy who will gas out. Might as well snatch up that name value while Ricardo is still around........i'm not advocating for either fight, just arguing the logic of it all

u have my respec usually, but this fight is a farce. no need to defend it, no need to try to mince words or defend canelo. its an embarassment to his brand. the fact that just about everyone thinks its pathetic tells u everything u need to know. your first mistake was trying to defend him.canelo may be young, but if he was so special, ppl have the rite to ask why he hasnt fought any legit 154lber. i mean **** mayweather and pacquiao were well on their way to beating top fighters in their own divisions by this time. to me, he must not be that special. the hype isnt warranted.
