If the substances detected are significant then you obviously stop the fight.
The point is not if someone has a tiny or trace amount. The point is that the guy used the stuff to enhance his performance. Like Conte says you take that stuff in advance during training to enhance and by the time it gets close to the fight that stuff is gone from your system. But the advantage is already done and will manifest itself during the fight.

Arum like a lot of people just don't really know how this stuff works.

Hey Bob how do you think the opponent is gunna feel being punched by a guy that tested positive ?

How do you think its going to mentally effect an opponent knowing the guy he will be facing tested positive to PEDS ?

What happens if with a death in the ring and the guy that killed the other tested positive to PEDS and was allowed to fight ?

For a lawyer he is pretty self centered and dumb at times !
      Dude get a life.

SO steroids can be taken as long as its a little....barely over next to nothing?

I think for the future there should zero tolerance policy towards PEDs. Unlike other sports, if boxing was to be associated with PEDs it would reflect ten times as worse then, say soccer. Most sports have violent acts and physical confrontations either accidentally or intentionally. The difference however is that the violence in other sports is a byproduct of the game whereas boxing is a sport purely about hurting someone.

Boxing is a violent sport that dedicates itself towards learning how to hurt a person. Associating itself with drugs that are used to make people stronger artificially as well giving them violent mood swings makes people very uneasy.

Additionally, if boxing was associated with PEDs, Dana White's gloating would be endless, and he probably would go out of his way to prove his fighters are clean just to rub it in our faces.

for most (if not all) big events the promoter will buy an "event cancellation" insurance policy. That policy will cover the expenses that were paid out or are still owed. It does not however cover lost potential profit.

This is one of the few times I agree with Aurum. This isn't a systematic testosterone programme for athletes like we saw with Balco.

Peterson passed the initial tests and should've got a fine for the miscommunication. Berto on the other hand should get a warning. The levels found (picograms!) are so low that we're likely talking about contamination and wouldn't even have an impact on his performance.

Sounds like a former lawyer arguing on the behalf of his own profession (promoters).

I would've love to have seen those fights. I see Arum's point. But, better safe than sorry, IMO.

They should have let the fight go on!
But first they should have check the fighters (who didn't test positive) if he was still willing to fight the guy who was tested positive!

If Khan or Ortiz is willing, then the fight should have go on!
                      Punishment can be dealt later!
