He put up a spirited performance but won 2 or 3 rounds max. The fact that he even gave Floyd a challenge was bound to end up being hyped I mean some guys were claiming that Ortiz was working Floyd over lol

At least Miguel has spoken now, but it was still wrong to act like he did post fight, especially considering it was far from a robbery.

I like cotto and I think his personality is pretty much universally liked but he gets a pass on his post fight attitude that not too many other fighters would get.

I dont think he ever thought he won but that 118 was horse****, he won 4 rounds ive watched the fight several times and im a fan of both, i just think he didn't feel like the scorecards should look like he got completely dominated because he didnt every man has hes pride.

I thought the fight was alot closer then wht the judges had it. I saw Cotto win 5 rounds and thts because he lost the last 2 rounds. The commentators were very biased during the fight when Cotto was landing good body shots, the copybox numbers were definitely off as I saw Cotto blocked alot of those wide right hands May was throwing even though he did land them but Cotto did block them alot yet the commentators would say "good right hand" and tht was BS, Great fight though, i enjoyed watching the action tht took place and Im not mad at Cotto for not doing a post fight interview. He is not obligated to do tht nor does he owe anyone anything. Do I give May credit for this win? NO! He just defeated a damaged goods opponent who still pushed his S&#T back, I can imagine the pre-Marg Cotto would have put it on May due to his tolerance to take punches, decent handspeed and punching power. May knew Cotto would wither later in the fight because of his damaged physical tolerance. Im sure he didt think he was gona get touched as many times as he did, Mayweather is a conartist and a smart one at tht, when was the last time he fought someone without a handicap? i can see y hes making so many obstacles to fight Pac cuz after wht I saw Pac is gonna rip him up!

Learn the basics before you say things. Makes you look bad. You get a pass if you're a ******, mind you.

The scores can be wide, even when the fight was close. This seemed to be the case. I think Floyd's praise should matter more to him than some outsiders' opinions.

This qoute shows people see what they want to see. This was the best Cotto I've seen and he fought a good fight. Mayweather has a very difficult style for anyone and Cotto fought a great fight and with so much heart. Don't **** on his performance and call him damaged goods. Respect the fighters that get in the ring for your enjoyment.

You get no arguement from me regarding Floyds victory...in fact, I consider it one of the best victories of his career. He was forced to dig deep and he proved alot of his critics wrong. And he did it in style. Depending on what style you favor, Cotto could have won 4 or 5 rounds (which is how I saw it). Floyd fought a great fight against a determined opponent and won without question. I consider Floyd to be the P4P best today and one of the best of all time. Me calling him a "Vegas cash cow" is a reflection of the financial reality of the game, not a shot a Floyd the fighter. Try to understand the difference.
Yeah, three jabs a round while almost everything else Cotto threw wasn't landing... glancing at the most.

What rounds outside of six, eight, and possibly nine, do you give Cotto then... and more importantly, why?

No, you calling him the cash cow and referring to Cotto as a prop was a shoddy attempt at insinuating that no matter how well Cotto performed, the judges would favor Mayweather since he's the reason they get paid.

It's probably Cotto's trainer's fault. I thought I've heard from his corner something like "the fight is even." I don't remember what fight it was uttered and repeated by one of the commentators. It's probably just to lift Cotto's spirits. I haven't re-watched the fight, so I'm not sure.

Cotto fought a hell of a fight regardless of the scores he has done what not many could do is force floyd to fight and made floyd uncomfortable and ie definitely a force to reckoned with at jmw.
