You can have a competitive fight, yet a shut out; you can win twelve competitive rounds in a fight. Miguel was competitive, even though it wasn't a shut out, he won 2-3 rounds max. I think i gave him the middle rounds where he outworked Mayweather, and i couldn't stand Mayweather's grinning....lol.

All the posters that were talking that ***** about Cotto before the fight need to show some Cotto class and offer some apoligies to Miguel for disrespecting his ability.

i understand his disgust, 118-117 was an insult i saw a 115-113 perhaps 116-114 give or take no more no less, but, as huge cotto fan, i was disgusted when they announced he wouldnt take any interviews almost unbieleavable.

Am I the only one who thinks its weird that people are praising a boxer for giving it all he had during his loss? That's what he gets paid to do...and now we are showing him respect cause he was being a ***** after the fight and realized he wasn't even close to winning so he deletes his twitter post and denies being upset?

There's a reason the scores were so wide... Mayweather was clearly punching Cotto in the face consistently every round but six and eight. Nice job complimenting Mayweather but not complimenting Mayweather at the end of your props to the Cash Cow that was never going to get beat letter.

The reason he left the ring was obvious. He was disgusted with the scores because the judges were basically telling him, "you would have lost no matter what you did in the ring". He was the defending champion and even if he had swept the last 3 rounds (which he didn't), he still would have lost a UD. 116-114 or 115-113 for Floyd would have been fair, but those wide scores were a slap in the face of the champion and proved to him that he was just there as a prop for the Vegas cash cow. In case you didn't notice, Floyd was also being punched in the face throughout the fight. Even when he was getting the better of it. You get no arguement from me regarding Floyds victory...in fact, I consider it one of the best victories of his career. He was forced to dig deep and he proved alot of his critics wrong. And he did it in style. Depending on what style you favor, Cotto could have won 4 or 5 rounds (which is how I saw it). Floyd fought a great fight against a determined opponent and won without question. I consider Floyd to be the P4P best today and one of the best of all time. Me calling him a "Vegas cash cow" is a reflection of the financial reality of the game, not a shot a Floyd the fighter. Try to understand the difference.

Floyd fought with one hand and you saw it. Normally when Floyd does a shoulder roll he counters with the other hand to make you pay.When Floyd rests on the rope he makes you pay but he could not do that because of his injured and swollen left hand.Also when Floyd hits with the right hand he goes under your jab to your left then lands his own left but he couldn't do that this time.
On top of that Cotto came in at 180lbs which is why he could push Mayweather to the ropes.Having said that watch the fight again.Cotto's first shot came in the 5th round but his first win was in the 6th when Floyd was resting.Cotto also won the 8th round but apart from that he got an asswhooping

He didnt use the left as much as he normally does. Most of his really hard shots were from that looping right hand he was using that landed easily. I wonder now why he didnt follow up after he wobbled Cotto in the 12th with that big left uppercut and maybe it hurt his hand more because he could have tried to get a knock down.

I agree that Floyd won the fight....no matter how you score it. I'm just explaining my view on why Cotto was so pissed afterwards. For the defending champion to be nearly shut out after pressing the fight, constantly working the body, and blocking many of those cuffing right hands, must have been a serious blow to his pride. I know Floyd won....I just thought it was closer......no need for Floyd fans to hate on me. Floyd is the best P4P in the game and he proved it.
