    ok you got me to look thompson up on boxrec, and i always look at the past 5 fights for some kind of reference and although he does have a good ko percentage only 2 of his last 5 opponents had winning records. I still think thompson bet all in early and was able to pull it off by chance.

      I saw the fight on TV. Linares got hurt Thomson in the first round but was unable to capitalize, and on the second round Linares got badly hurt and the doctor stopped the fight because of a cut (I couldn't see it on TV, but I think it wasn't bad enough for the fight to be stopped) ... Anyway I think that Linares was going to be knocked out on that same round since he wasn't firing back and Thomson was throwing massive combinations at him.

        i say weed fighters out. whats the point in hyping guys with tomato cans to make them look good just to get stopped by someone average at a later point? it just makes the sport look bad. linares had his 15 minutes and he doesnt have it. time's up.

        demarco is an OK fighter, but the other guys who stopped linares are nodies..."bums". and i dont mean it in a disrespective way, not everyone shown on tv can be the man. the guys he's lost to arent prospects or contenders and i think it says something.

        overall, bad and controversial stoppage. but i stick by my original thoughts that if the fight went on he would have been stopped sooner than later.

          Bro u took the words out of my mouth...GREAT skills gone to waste...if I was him, I would NEVER give up on boxing, because some people are l;ate bloomers, and his skills are unWORLDLY....he just needs some maturing ...and Im saying that, without watching the fight yet....but looking back at his fight with demarco, a mature fighter with his skills, would have made wiser choices and found a way to win with all that ability!

            Watch the fight. He was cut in round 1 then dropped in the second round. I really think I have given up on him as of right now. If he bounces back and beats a top guy for once (which he failed to do twice now) then I might jump on the bandwagon .

                2 Quick Points

                1st I thought that was a horrible stoppage. Seriously, Linares fought with cuts worst for like 4rds+ when he get it shaking with Demarco. 2nd Linares is wilding for even getting his block rocked by a mother ****er like Sergio Thompson. Real talk!

                    Linares has no defense whatsoever.

                    Too little head movement, and he doesnt defend well against body shots. You can tell he's bothered by them

                    I think he needs a new trainer. Maybe Mayweather sr would be good for him.

                      He has GREAT defense, and head movement, did u see the first few rounds vs demarco?..His TRAINED is the probelm, because he's ruining his natural skills...This kid is one of the BEST pure boxers I have ever seen, but I did not see those skills in this fight...he used to be a natural fighter, but Roach ruined him
