        if Cotto could beat Mosley. Floyd was the next logical step
        why you think Cotto ended up fighting Gomez?

        he wanted to milk Oscar for another payday in a pointless rematch
        when that didn't happen, he was assed out
        he announced his "retirement" around June 08
        Cotto-Floyd was hot talk by then for several months

                Cotto himself has admitted that he had never spoken with Arum about any Mayweather fight nor were there ever any suggestions or steps in securing a Mayweather fight at any time.

                It was never on the table, especially after Cotto BARELY beat Mosley. Like Arum was going to let Cotto lose to Floyd next, when Cotto was on the cusp of being his next cash cow.

                  What Cotto said was that he never pushed, or shall we say never got interested but, he never said he AVOIDED!

                  I think its clear enough that the word AVOIDED was simply missing or never use during his interview.

                  Anyway, just wait for the fight to take place, and see what Mayweather Jr and Cotto will show!
