Good fight and well done to both fighters. Macklin did well for a while but Martinez is very good and was able to separate himself. Overall a very enjoyable fight.

The hype machine has developed into double edged sword for Martinez, as well as for Donaire, they constantly expected now to blow ppl out of the water and any sight stiff competition is seen as a sign of weakness. Martinez has knocked out four of his last opponents all opposition that Chavez Jr will never fight. Merchant and Kellerman need a reality check and need to realise boxing isn't always easy you will struggle, you will have tough fights but it is how you deal with it that separates good fighters from P4P fighters.
Macklin did a great job.

Macklin did a great job.
It was a great fight by both fighters. but Sergio proved why he's top 10 p4p (around #7 or #8 on my list).
Thats the diffirence between world class level and domestic level.
I feel Macklin didnt take enough risks, and was praying for some lucky shamrocks / cuts/ kd's / judging to win the fight.
Some Wtfs:
-How did Julie Lederman have the fight a draw going into the 12th?
-How did Cotton call that a KD? He was right infront of the fighters, there was no punch that landed, so wtf you doing Cotton?
-Sergio looked like sergio.
-HBO gonna HBO hate
-Stop showing that "bully" girl, she's probably psycho in the head and thinks Martinez will want to marry her and the more u show her the more she thinks of it.

Sergio came out flat but adjusted well and demonstrated the world class boxer he is after 8th round. Thumbs up for Macklin, biggest challenge for Sergio since Pavlik.
Special note to :1)Larry Merchant, he is so biased against Sergio is laughable, what a hater lol.
2)J.Ledderman scoring the bout even after the 2 KOS in round 11,WHAT!!!???
All in all a pretty good win for ***y ,who started to contemplative. It is his 4 Ko in a row at MW ,now its Chavez or a 154 campaign leading him to Floyd...

I could be wrong but I never heard his trainer in last nights fight tell him "throw your left a little lower" or anything like that. Maybe that's why it took Martinez so long to adjust, he had to do it on his own. Well, that and he was too busy talking ****.Last edited by .:: JSFD26 ::.; 03-18-2012, 10:02 AM.

Merchant gets a pass because he is just a disgruntled old drunk, no harm, no foul.
