I don't agree with that, which is why I believe Mosley/Hopkins cancel out because Mosley was coming off two L's himself and only had one legit fight at '54 despite being highly regarded at that time.

But you have Hopkins talking about retiring at 40 and not looking particularly well in any of his fights leading up to Calzaghe. I was actually going to say that had Calzaghe fought Hopkins around the time he fought Trinidad (differing weight classes then, I know) I'd take heed to your original statement.
That's silly. Had Wright fought Mosley six years earlier...you get my drift.

I don't think there is anyone on this planet who thinks the Mosley win is better than the Hopkins win. Even daggum disagrees with you. That's because Hops - whether he was talking retirement or not - was far and away considered the best LHW, was a top five pound for pounder (possibly top three) and rated WAY higher than Mosley at that time. Case closed. Not all losses are equal anyway.

Furthermore - we can go down the list. What's Winky's second best win? Out with it, please.

Jermain Taylor beat Hopkins TWICE in more convincing fashion than Joe..I guess we should make room in the HOF for ol' JT.

      Winky ducked no one...

Joe ducked any and everybody....most recently Glenn Johnson...

Oh, I get your drift haha! It's semantics which is why they still cancel out.

Great... at the time Wright fought Mosley, Mosley was consider the best '54 pounder and amongst the top five p4p (possibly top three) and rated higher than Hopkins. It appears some losses are.

Why don't we look at Kessler? Which I happen to think is a good win because at that time, it was, but looking in hindsight (which is the way you've been viewing Wright's) and evaluating Kessler's comp, was it really?

So what was Winky's second best win again?

I happen to like the Trinidad win. I know Trinidad wasn't very active but it was a shutout.

              Kessler win >>> Tito win.

Why though? Who had Kessler fought and who had Trinidad fought? Andrade and Mundine? Meanwhile Trinidad had fought good opposition by the time he got to Wright... Hopkins, DLH, Mayorga (yeah, I said it hahaha), Vargas, Reid, Joppy, and since old timers are your thing, Camacho and Whitaker.

William Joppy beat Roberto Duran. He's the greatest. Let's get some perspective.

Give me a break. I thought for a second you were going to be real about this but if you want to prove a point so bad you're gonna sit here and tell me beating Felix Trinidad at 160 in 2005 is better than beating Mikkel Kessler, I can't be bothered to discuss further - it's why I'm ignoring clowns like Always on Top or whatever his name is.

Mikkel Kessler beat ___________ which is greater than anything Trinidad's done, apparently.

This is my point, though, who has Calzaghe fought to deem his resume is that much better than Wright's? To have that debate you have to evaluate their opponents and I don't find that Kessler provides much to boast about. A good win, but so was the shutout of Trinidad.

That is a silly argument. More important than who is when. William Joppy beat Roberto Duran who beat Ray Leonard. William Joppy has an ATG win. See where that crap goes? Come on, man.
