The kid has stones, I'll give him that but he knows a payday when he can see it. By the time he's truly ready to face Floyd, Floyd will probably be in retirement by then, so I suspect he's trying to strike while the iron's hot. Besides, what if he could land that one lucky shot and actually win?

His final destination will probably be 160 or 168, in other words a ****ty div to fight if you want the best money. That's why he wants Floyd now that he can still make 150.

Ill give the kid props for having the balls to call out Mayweather like that but this would be a complete missmatch. Kid has to grow some hairs in his chest before stepping in the ring with Mayweather or anyone else in that level. Try some other contender first...

Sorry Canelo, fight some better fights in 2012, and than I bet you'd get the fight in May 2013, probably Floyd's last fight.
Alvarez needs to fight the Cotto-Margarito II winner, Kirkland, Lara, Martirosyan, Angulo, Trout-Munidne winner, etc. Any combination of those fights in 2012 would be good and get people more hyped about Alvarez and more people would buy into him more, and it would make a Floyd fight at 154 legit.

At least hes willing to fight the best. I dont see Chavez jr trying to fight martinez. I never saw Floyd call out De la Hoya or Mosley when he was 21. Floyd wouldve got killed by De la Hoya and Mosley at that age. The fact of the matter is this, yes Canelo is not ready for Floyd because hes still not fully developed but at least he has the balls to take on the best. Thats a warrior right there. Even if he loses to floyd, it could still be beneficial to canelo. Go the distance and win some rounds and he could learn from this. Only risk that would ruin his career would be if he was too get kod early which I don't think floyd could even ko Canelo. It would most likely be a Floyd decision. If the floyd pac fight happens, then a canelo vs cotto-margarito would make sense with the winner of both fights fighing each other in september.
