This may be a long shot, but I think Robert Helenius will have a strong claim. Especially if he beats Chisora convincingly.

So far he's KO'd Peter and LiaKhovich. A KO of Chisora might be icing on the cake.

The fight with Margarito was in 2010.
He looked **** against a completely shot Mosley and he looked even worse against Marquez, in fact he got given a boxing lesson & it was one of the most disgusting decisions of the last decade, how him & that crook Arum can even sleep at night is beyond me.

Everyone Rios beat, he was expected to beat coming in to the fight. Until Rios beats Maidana, JMM, or someone like Mattysse, he will always be a TR protected fighter like the rest of the prospects.

Donaire had a good victory over Montiel, but he ruined his chances for FOTY with his piss poor showing in his last fight. He fought an undersized guy and couldn't do anything with him.

The only other fighter that will have a valid claim is Froch or Ward. That's self explanatory.

The only fighters to stop Peter were Klitsz x2 and Helenius; Liakovich - I think Helenius and Briggs.

No ones ever stopped Chisora. If Rob can pull it off, I think he would've accomplished something pretty good for the year.

I think the Winner of Froch vs Ward should get it...

Wins over Glen Johnson and Andre Ward (For Froch) or Wins over Arthur Abrahama and Carl Froch in one year would be impressive IMO

I don't know man. I just don't like Rios's choice of opponents this year. I thought they were tailor made for his style and I called foul as soon as the fights were made. Who's he fighting next? John Murray; Seriously? Rios won't get any votes from me with this blatant cherry picking from Bobby.

Then you have Donaire who struggled with Navarez. He beat the crap out of Montiel, but he ruined it with his last fight. You're only as good as your last fight. The way I see it is you're not FOTY worthy if you struggled with a guy you were suppose to dominate. That's just my opinion.

Helenius's opponents this year are definitely not top tier opponents, but they're in his division and they are prior champions. I never said hands down Helenius should win. But he's a breath of fresh air in a division that's been dominated by the Klitsz for long enough. His KO's are pretty exciting also.
