US border should take Narvaez passport or visa and not let this guy touch the airport tarmac again....until he refund us the money. He took everyone for a ride.

The guy is worse than Clottey

The best posts in this tread. They really act like he was supposed to get ko'd. His defense is on par with the best. Ok, he didn't let his hands go, but I can't blame him for that, he was up against the most proliphic offense south of 126. Usually the status quo is he ran all night, but that little guy didn't run anywhere.

no we're acting like this guy was supposed to come to fight not that he could last 12 rounds with Donaire which seemed to be his goal after getting rocked in the third

So you enjoyed watching that fight? That was a good investment of your time? What I saw was a guy who had ZERO intention of doing what it took to win that fight. You can't win a fight by not throwing punches. His average punch output in his last five fights was 75 per round. In this fight he threw 25 on average! That's a 300 PERCENT DECREASE. The outcome of the fight was sealed after the fourth round. There shouldn't be a consolation prize for not getting knocked out just because you didn't want engage.

It was a terrible, shameful performance, and I bet he will never fight in America again.

As someone mentioned earlier in this thread, DO NOT TAKE FIGHTS YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF WINNING. IT'S KILLING OUR SPORT.

I can't believe I'm typing this but I have no malice toward Narvez for his performance. When the fight started they didn't announce what weight the fighters rehydrated to. Donaire looked like he weighed at least 18-20 pounds more than Narvez. Narvez mailed it in but to have to fight someone that skilled with a that big a weight advantge strikes me as unfair.

Yes he signed the contract and yes he got paid but he shouldn't have to take a beating from an opponent that heavy IMO.

I'm not really mad at him either I truly believe that in the 3rd when Donaire hit him with that right hand it made him think.

Just a shame that in what will be his only US fight he didn't perform like some of us are used to seeing from him. I understand the circumstances but he still did blow it

He was in a lose lose situation. Lose like he did you get no more TV time (but you keep your health). Try to win and get beaten up by man at least 20lbs more than you and risk serious damage.

This was potentially a legal execution in the making. When HBO decided not to release the rehydrated weight it was clear when they took off their robes.

Narvez was essentially fighting a jr ww.

Donaire is the 3rd or 4th best fighter in the world. His opponent was smaller slower and older. The man was like a 30 to 1 dog.

Narvaez was able to survive against a monster at that weight. He put on a beautiful display of defensive boxing for a while as well. Couple rounds he blocked or slipped everything.

Would love to see him against an aggressive fighter his own size. Bet he has some offensive skill.
