I think this fight will go down like the Mayorga fight. Cotto will use his superior jab and **** Ritos face up.

This fight although I'm a huge fan of Cotto is up in the air. I'm 50/50 I think both of these guys have more left in the tank than many people give em' credit for. I believe the fight will end in a TKO win for Cotto for the most part, I think he will target Marg's eye all night and we all know Cotto's jab has a kick behind it. But in order to be that way Cotto WILL have to clinch because as I have stated before Marg is still the same come forward fighter. If it does not end in a TKO I can see Cotto winning 6 of the first 9 rds. If his conditioning is atleast decent he should be able to hold of to a win. Plus it will be in New York home away from home. WARRRR COTTO!!!!!

Yeah margs took a whooping from pac but what was difference between that ass wooping and the one pac gave to cotto? Margs was still moving foward and trying to fight while Cotto was pretty much destroyed, again. So again margs took a wooping but Cotto took 2 beatings, the other at the hands of this very man Margarito. So now the fact that the beating was to Margarito and the way it all went down, mentally Cotto is at a major disadvantage. I love Cotto and i'll be pulling for him, but c'mon man he was getting tagged by freakin' Mayorga.

I agree with people who say Margarito would be more suited at 154lbs. The problem is at this point I don't think the extra weight will help him as much as it would have when he was active. We will see how well he takes punches. Can't wait to hit the garden!

Margarito will damn near kill Cotto in the ring that night.
This is how I see the fight. Already have money on a Margarito win. Probably putting even more on it. Smoke in mirrors this talk about the demise of the Tornado. FYI I'll be rooting for Cotto in the Garden that night.

You think we will see the same old Tony? I'm skeptical

I'm thinking he'll be stronger above the 147 limit. Both men have taken beatings since their last meeting, but Margarito is just a tough tough dude and a stylistic nightmare for Cotto. I honestly don't see how Cotto can keep this fight from turning into him back peddaling early.

I don't think he can just stand there and control the tempo and maintain a safe distance without reverting to back pedaling very early. And I certainly don't think he can make Margarito back pedal for more than a couple random moments. If/when he does end up back pedaling, I think it will only be a matter of time. We will see, and no matter what happens everyone in the Garden that night will be winners. Unless of course Cotto gets Ko'd and there's a riot!

There's probably rarely been a fighter that NEEDED to dominate early and possibly win early like Cotto will have to in this fight. Margarito, for as bad a beating as he took against Pac, didn't look completely far off from the Margarito he used to be, he still had the chin, activity, and stamina as before.

I think Cotto looks every bit as done as Margarito, maybe even more so. If Ricardo Mayorga is having success pressuring you for thirty seconds every two rounds, you are in trouble fighting Margarito, even now.

Margarito benefits more from the wight than Cotto no doubt. I just don't like the thought of the inactivity over the past couple years couples with the recent injury. If Cotto can turn him as opposed to moving back as others have said he can make this a tough fight. Margarito doesn't typically get out of the ate fast and with the layoff I expect the same. I'm not sure if he can physically walk through what he normally does with no concern to apply his pressure. Time will tell though.

Sometimes when a fighter takes a lot of shots it actually shows up in the next fight. He went the distance against Pac but that might hurt more than help in the long run. If I was one of Margarito's keepers I would have pressured Top Rank to give him a low profile fight before this one. Just my opinion though.

I think it would be great if Cotto could turn Margarito, but it's difficult to do against a bigger strong guy with tons of endurance. As much as Margarito throws, it's going to be difficult for Cotto to turn him and sit in the pocket Imo. I think whether Cotto can avoid back pedaling will be one of the biggest factors in this fight. I really have difficulty seeing how he can avoid this trap. Steward is no doubt aware of this, and we will see how he plans for it.
