If I had a choice of listening to Pacquiao sing whilst he and Dan Hill gaze lovingly into each others eyes, or reading about the latest attendant that received a poke in the eye from Mayweather, I know what I'd rather be doing.

what is your prediction of the ortiz mayweather fight?

ive watched three fights today, may mosley, may hatton and ortiz berto...

the hatton fight was the hardest for floyd, he got caught with a lot of lead

left hooks from hatton and hatton flying into him tired him out a lot and

decreased his ability to counter, therefore adjusting and leading with the

straight right hand and immediately tying up and holding...

in fact i cant believe how much holding floyd did, it was non stop..

of course he whooped hatton, but point being is a rough and rugged fighter

with good agility cause floyd some problems..

and that fight was physically tiring for floyd 4 years ago

now hes 35

I had a bigger rap sheet than that before I legally became an adult.

Here, I am a well-respected contributing member of the community, but if I had lived in the USA, I would likely still be serving time for mistakes that I made in my youth.

The problem with Floyd is his inconsistencies with his plans, one example is his press statement during a promotional tour the he says and I quote, "Pacquiao your next." Boxing fans of both Pacquiao and Mayweather were ecstatic about the call out.

Consequently, a couple of days he contradicted his statement as well as berating a sport journalist saying, "Please don't put any words in my mouth and I didn't say I'll fight Pacquiao next." That’s one of Mayweather traits that pushing fans not to believe in him.

But I totally agree with you that Mayweather is doing a good job of promoting the fight. But he needs to be very careful and consistent with his statements so fans will believe him.

No he doesn't need to be careful about anything. If anyone cared about contradictions, Manny Pacquiao would have been crucified by the media and the fans a long time ago for all of his contradictions, bold faced lies and switched positions that he has committed since he first walked away from the negotiating table at the beginning of 2010. And Floyd Mayweather is fighting Victor Ortiz next. Not Manny Pacquiao. So whatever he says about Pacquiao is totally irrelevant until he gets past Ortiz.

Ortiz is a live dog alright, but I am unsure how he will exert the consistent pressure that it will take to beat Mayweather over the course of 12 rounds, without the use of an authorative jab.

I dont buy into Mayweathers talk of going toe-to-toe with Ortiz.

He will sit in the pocket at times, but I doubt that he will approach this like the Mosley fight, it will be more like the Hatton fight with Ortiz trying to walk Mayweather down, and Mayweather trying to control the distance/pace, and countering Ortiz out of the fight.

I am sure that Ortiz will back up from Berto, but I doubt that the layoff will have affected Mayweather too much - difficult to tell though, we shall have to wait and see how Floyd looks - I would love to see Ortiz beat him, but I am picking a 12 round UD to Mayweather in an entertaining fight.

One thing I am sure of, Mayweather is going to be in a fight this time around, he aint gonna knock Ortiz out, he would need to damn near kill that kid to stop him. This could be a real good punch-up.

that is a good presumption..

i think the shane fight and activity will hurt floyd. the shane fight was toooooooo easy for floyd... seriously, shane was gassed in 3 and stood right in front of may and just got picked apart, posed no threat after round 3.

my point, is that the noncompetitive fight with shane and lay off will make it harder for may to adjust, it will take him a few rounds to adjust to the speed and agility of ortiz...those rounds ortiz can put in the bank on activity alone...

then you have ortiz winning some late rounds thro activity again just by bullying and pushing may around...

with the right game plan ortiz can put some rounds in the bank. imagine if ortiz can pull off a draw, a rematch would be warranted.

may is difficult to catch cleanly, especially if u try to box him, but if ortiz can go to his right, when may bends to his right ortiz needs to step again right to stay away from floyds right hand and just **** that body and side, just for points...


floyd will land the cleaner shots winning rounds, but ortiz can win rounds through activity as well..

it is intriguing especially since we dont know what floyd has lost being off so long and near 35.
