Mikey Garcia vs Yuriorkis Gamboa

I like Gamboa but Mikey takes him out IMO, Gamboa is not really a hypejob but I think Garcia has the style to beat him.

Two opponents ago, I just posted a video of Mikey saying whoHE wants to fight next. After the Guzman he told Max the same thing.

Hey pacnpbfsuck just wondering what makes you think he lost the "prospect" title when after he beat Matt he fought Guzman. Those fights along with the video and the Solis fight all happened in 2011 so it's not like it was a loOong time ago. Mikey also hasn't beat a top 10 guy yet. For the record I like Mikey so I'm not downing him but you see my point of view and I would just like to see yours on the subject. Oh and I would've hit reply but without that 15 post I can't post with other URL's quite yet.

He was the Boxingscene and ESPN prospect of the year for 2010, that's what I mean when I say he just his title, Matt was his coming out party, then he was scheduled for Beltran jr, but he got hurt.

"I think we're ready. Mikey has been fighting consistently and he knows he's ready. He's been proving it to the world. But we do have a promoter and we do have Cameron Dunkin who makes the decision for us. So if they feel that we need one or two more fights, we're OK with that too. We're already fighting on HBO and we're fighting on good undercards. So it doesn't make a difference if it's his next fight or two fights later. We feel that we might be ready now but it's all up to Top Rank and Cameron Dunkin. They work with a lot of the champions so it should be a lot easier for us to get a title shot. But we're not going to push it or say that it has to be the next fight. It doesn't have to be the next fight."

Robert says he "thinks" they're ready and that Mikey "knows he's ready" (what do you expect from a fighter?). He then goes on to say they "might" be ready, but that they're "not going to push it."

Robert acknowledges Gamboa is "without a doubt" the best at FW. What does that mean? It surely doesn't mean that he thinks Mikey's the best. He says that Mikey "wants to prove that he is better than Gamboa."

This is the bottom line. You're trying to say that Mikey Garcia is better than Yuri Gamboa. He might very well be. What I'm saying is that there has been little evidence, so far, to indicate that's so. In the absence of good evidence, I'll stick with the guy who's more proven, thank you.

Gamboa is overrated. No one beats Mikey Garcia at feather.

I know most of u guys are mexican, very proud of these great champs like canelo, chavez jr etc.. but you have to realized that Arum bought the IBF belt from Gamboa as a Christmas present for Garcia, you all know that Garcia and his ppl said that he was not ready for Gamboa, thanks God you guys are not his manager or promoter, if he fights Gamboa now, he will b pick apart and koed in whatever round Gamboa's choses to do it, there's no one around 126 that could give Gamboa troubled with the exception of Rigodeuax, not even Donaire, a 118 pounder used to fight smallest guys, stop dreaming!

Boxing is a business. When he says a fighter "isn't ready" that's not always indicative of ability. It's indicative of marketability.

Gamboa/Garica right now isn't a big fight to the public. Ponce De Leon has been on HBO way more times than Garcia and is less of a threat....of course they went with that fight over Garica. We know how Arum works...there's no need to have one of his young guys beat another one of his young guys when he gets individual HBO pay days for Gamboa and he will soon with Garcia. That's how he looks at things.

You're reading too deep into it. Sergio also says Mayweather is p4p the best fighter in the world.. does that mean he thinks he can't beat him?

He's just not dis*****g where Gamboa is ranked. He's not saying he is better than Mikey, just recognizes he's higher ranked and rightfully so.
