Garcia will be P4P in two years....he's ready to be moved along right now.
Mikey is a Ventura County Police Officer, and holds an associate degree. He's a very articulate young man. His life discipline carries over to all his endeavors, including his boxing career and style. None of this makes him a better fighter than Gamboa, but they help.

Hey Cuban Guy thanks for the aid. I can't see how his fans are so confident when CLEARLY him and his team are not. Pure head scratcher.

I mean in-ring discipline, but what you said is a great point.

What I mean is that watching him fight, he doesn't look untested. He doesn't fall in love with his power, he doesn't take unecessary chances, and he stays calm under pressure.

Gamboa's downfall has always been the lapses he has in the ring. Garcia, while less talented than Gamboa, doesn't have those lapses. I don't need to see him against top 10 guys to see that....the guy is just really seasoned for someone so young, and on top of that he does have pop and he does put punches together.

I really think he'd frustrate Gamboa...not a knock on Gamboa, who I like and think is great, I'm just really high on Garcia.

            No prob.

Robert's comments came after the Gamboa-Solis fight, which happened in March, just prior the Ponce De Leon bout. It's clear that Garcia isn't in a hurry to pit his brother against Gamboa, whom he obviously has high regard for.

I have no problem with Mikey and wish him well, but some of his supporters in this debate present absolutely no real argument as to why Garcia should be favored to beat Gamboa. On the other hand, your video and our arguments say more than any Garcia fan has managed to utter.

WOOOW, this video is from 5 days after he beat Remillard, He just finished losing his prospect title, you guys are reaching. The only reason he whooped Guzman was because Beltran jr got hurt training.

I knew that's what you meant, that's why I said, "His life discipline carries over to all his endeavors, including his boxing career and style." I also agree that Mikey passes the "eye test", so far. Of course, only time and competition will tell if Garcia is as good as he looks.

You also make some accurate comments about Gamboa. I'm not alone in this statement, but several commentators have observed that Yuri seems to get bored in the ring. It's partly a temperament thing.

You think that's reaching? It was only seven months and one opponent ago! lol

I said before that I don't know what Robert is saying now; but if he's changed his mind, it was only very recently.

Where's the video of Robert saying, "Bring on Gamboa! We're ready!"?

Hey pacnpbfsuck just wondering what makes you think he lost the "prospect" title when after he beat Matt he fought Guzman. Those fights along with the video and the Solis fight all happened in 2011 so it's not like it was a loOong time ago. Mikey also hasn't beat a top 10 guy yet. For the record I like Mikey so I'm not downing him but you see my point of view and I would just like to see yours on the subject. Oh and I would've hit reply but without that 15 post I can't post with other URL's quite yet.

100% agree. I'm actually done with this thread I just wanna see if pacnpbfsuck can come up with anything logical to the things we said without just using the "oh he passes the eye test" line. Gamboa does too and against BETTER comp that's it and that's all.
