Comments Thread For: Atlas: Pacquiao Has a Tougher Fight Than Mayweather

Trainer Teddy Atlas sat down with krikya360.com to discuss two of the biggest fights in 2011. Floyd Mayweather Jr. returns after a 16 month layoff to challenge Victor Ortiz for the WBC welterweight title on September 17th, and Manny Pacquiao will finally settle his rivalry with Juan Manuel Marquez when they meet for a third time on November 12. Both fights take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

On paper I agree with Atlas, but only by a small margin. The only problem with JMM/Manny is its at a weight where most of us think JMM isn't viable at because he got basically shutout by floyd.

Every fight that Manny has is tougher than any fight Mayweather has had.

            Why?

            Its the difference in pedigree.

One uses non-stop attrition to win, and if he cannot stop you then he must keep it up for 12 rounds.

The other uses his mind to counter all that you've got. Once he shows you that he's got your number he casually outboxes you at his leisure.

Its always going to be "tougher" for Pacquiao because he has to work harder while Floyd continues to work smarter.

Teddy Atlas calls it like it is.

Even Atlas, who is a known Pacquiao Hater is spitting that real talk. Ortiz is a walking punching bag with no heart (inside the ring, not outside). Marquez is a first ballot HOFer with heart.

But one thing is that Floyd almost got KTFO by a 16 month inactive Mosley who got completely destroyed by Pacquiao and Floyd will be 16 months inactive on fight night.

My prediction, Pacquiao KO's Marquez and Ortiz KTFO outta Floyd.
