So what if they wanted to bust Baldomir's ass...The world wanted Mayweather Vs Cotto at the time. It never happened.

Fraid Mayweather wanted none of it.

He wanted to be called out every night by men...

He wanted to play hard to get...

    Btch.
No, at the time people didn't want Floyd vs Margarito son. And, Margarito son wasn't so eager about it either at that time.

The best time to have made that fight was a year and a half later. But, Margarito son chose Gomez as an opponent very quickly.

So a guy who's ranked in the top 10 in ther division for 2-3 years is what passes for a journeyman these days?

It's hard to beat the #1 lineal when they refuse to want to fight you.
Which #1 lineal champ refused to fight Margarito?

He never won the TRUE welterweight champ. So what are you talking about. But, he was the longest reigning title holder at the time.
Irrelevant. It's a paper title. Are the guys he beat retaining & defending his paper title better than the guys Baldomir beat up until '06 to win and retain his legitimate title? If you answer honestly, it will be an emphatic NO.

LOL @ Baldomir being the more accomplished Welter. Why because he beat an overrated fighter who really wasn't that good? At the time Margarito was 6-0 against top 10 WW's.
Baldo's top wins @ welter >>>> Margo's top wins @ welter by a comfortable margin.

'And, level wise Baldo couldn't carry Marg jockstrap.
Baseless assertion. Margorito hasn't proven to be an elite fighter without his plaster wraps.

Fight of the century! Mayweather VS Baldomir

The arena was packed with celebrities and pisspot people alike. The buzz and excitement that filled the air was like no other fight in recent memory. Here on this very night, the worlds top two fighters would clash for what history will show to be the very best bout in the past 65 years. Floyd Money May not fight your ass Mayweather, going to test his mettle against the linear champion, Carlos Tata Baldomir. The betting odds would fail to reflect the truth citing Mayweather as a 50 to 1 favorite. Those of us with more insight, knew this was going to be a rumble... an all out brawl that would leave only one man standing...The other man in a heap of blood on the canvas. The moment of truth had finally arrived as Tata emerged first to the sound of 1 accordian and a 3 flutes. Waving his Argentinian flag proudly, the man was clearly here to prove once and for all, that he, Tata Baldomir was the true pound for pound champion. Snarling and pounding his chest he made his way to the stage. The anticipation rising with every second and suddenly the sound of Beyonce fills the Arena.. 'Say my name say my name' blares over the roar of 47,000 boxing fans and Floyd Mayweather makes his way to the ring. Dressed as a Roman gladiator and poised for battle, the young Mayweather finally enters the ring. The men subdued by security as they hurl insults back and forth. The stage is set... War Maywather! As instructions are given, a snarling Mayweather screams out, "I am going to kill you Tata!" Security once again intervenes and both camps begin pushing one another. Can you feel the buzz at home? This is the moment the world has been waiting for. Finally it has come Mayweather Vs Baldomir!!!!!

(This is how *****s remember that night of greatness)

It was a year and a half and it was at #10. He got an extra year due to beating an overrated fighter who was never that good. But, look at his resume before that win....You saying he wasn't a journeyman? really? Dude was a Zab Judah creation. Yes he was a journeyman.

Zab Judah straight up said he didn't want to fight Margarito, Don King refuse to match Mayorga against Margarito, Mosley said he wouldn't fight Marg in Nov either, Floyd chose a different path on 2 different occasions.

Guys Baldomir beat? Why are you making it sound plural...Are you really counting a win over a shot to pieces Gatti(RIP)? Are you really? Single win, yea you can say the win over a guy who straight up refuse to fight Marg was better than any single win Marg had up to that point. But, overall resume Marg was much much better. Marg was arguably the best WW at that time resume wise.

Again with the plural, wins, no it was top win. And, if we just talking about single win sure. If we talking about overall resume then it's Marg by a wide comfortable margin

Your assertion is baseless. Because, there's no proof that he had plaster wraps for his reign on top.

So again level wise Baldomir couldn't hold Margarito jockstrap.

But, again you would know this if you actually follow the sport. Instead of going back in time using boxrec.

I would have hope not, that would have been horrible to even contemplate as a Mayweather fan, werent they looking at corey spinks if i remember correctly..

Yeah i seem to remember no one wanted to fight Margarito at that time, Judah did say he wouldnt fight him, i remember that one, not sure why Baldomir wasnt an opponent for Margarito at that time, But i think only Winky show an interest and he wanted the 8M dollar that Arum offered to Floyd..
