Maybe not as far as overall acheivements at Welterweight, but achievements up until '06, YES without a doubt.

Margarito's biggest win up until '06 was over a prospect at the time (Cintron). And Margarito won a vacated paper title from a guy who in his last meaningful fight, got destroyed by Mosley.

Baldo was a journeyman, a Zab Judah creation. How would you know this though, you would of had to actually follow the sport during this time.

Margarito has got to be one of the most grossly overrated fighters of the past decade. This muddafugga spent his entire "reign" at welterweight as a paper titlist, never once beating a #1/lineal champ until 2008. And once finally winning a TRUE Welterweight Championship, he never successfully defended his title one single time. This actually makes Baldomir the more accomplished Welterweight. Because not only did he win a lineal title before Margarito (without the assistance of plaster wraps), but unlike Margarito he successfully defended it.

It's hard to beat the #1 lineal when they refuse to want to fight you. He never won the TRUE welterweight champ. So what are you talking about. But, he was the longest reigning title holder at the time. LOL @ Baldomir being the more accomplished Welter. Why because he beat an overrated fighter who really wasn't that good? At the time Margarito was 6-0 against top 10 WW's. And, level wise Baldo couldn't carry Marg jockstrap.
