his 2 fights fights would do around 3.1-3.4m or maybe more while floyds one would do less
Semantics. On a per fight average floyd sells more. Floyd's fights also have higher replay ratings.

Manny has only 1 fight that sold 1.5 mil ppvs, Cotto. How do you figure he sells 3.1-3.4 mill ppvs a year in 2 fights. Thats a 1.55- 1.7 mil avg per fight. How is that possible when HE HAS NEVER EXCEEDED 1.5 MIL?

If floyd was fighting more then once a year I'd defiantly agree with u. The way it stands now manny fights twice doing about 2.5 mill if u add it up. Floyd fights once doing about 1.3-1.5 a year.

you couldnt be more wrong even if you tried

since floyd's 'retirement' manny has pulled in about 7.2 million ppv buys while in the same time span floyd has only garnered 2.4 million. Pac fights twice a year and averages about 2 mil buys per year, hbo execs are lucky if floyd fights once a year. On top of that, pacquiao now has major deals with the likes of nike, hp, and more on the way. Any network that showcases him can entice those en****** to pay for advertisement space during promotions and the fight itself.

And hbo didn't let him walk away, there's plenty of articles that document the trouble they went through to try to convince them not to move to showtime. Their execs jobs were on the line after that happened with industry rumblings that greenburg and davis were on the verge of getting axed.

So make no mistake about it, manny pacquiao is the cash cow and face of boxing and any network would bend over backwards for the privilege of having him on their airwaves.

Floyd avgs 1.4 mil per ppv, Manny about 1.2. Floyd's fights also have higher replay ratings. I get your point but I think the per fight average is the better indicator.

Per fight average prince. Per fight average. Obviously floyd and manny are at different stages of their careers. Manny has to fight more because he generates less. Check the numbers of common opponents as well.

Let's put it this way. HBO may have messed up in letting Manny fight on showtime, BUT THERE IS NO WAY THEY ALLOW FLOYD TO FIGHT ON SHOWTIME. and you know that is true.

Congratulations to Pac, it would be even greater if he could leave that rat Arum and keep most of the proceeds for himself and to help his country. Instead of lining the pockets of that old bastard. I hope Showtime wins that way it would force HBO to spend more on boxing in an effort to compete.

SO true. Top Rank is the best at building a guy, so it was right for Manny to leave dumb a$$ Murad Muhammad and go to there. But IMO, he should've jumped ship to GBP when his TR contract was up because they are better at making stars.

huh? you do realize that Arum is mainly responsible for this news right? lol. So you're pretty much contradicting yourself, just saying.

                      a) i doubt hbo execs give a flying f#ck about who has a higher average. All they care about is who makes them more money. Since floyd became a part time fighter pacquiao generated around 6 million buys for them while floyd only 2.4

so who do you think hbo considers to be their cash cow? Especially considering pacquiao will generate close to 3 million buys this year, possibly for their rival?

                      B) as the a'side/headliners on ppv (aka everything besides dlh) pac averaged and totaled more buys than floyd before and averages slightly less than floyd. If you take out clottey (the only fight post dlh that didn't feature a reality series), pac averages more after dlh too, in addition to blowing him out of the water in terms of total sales.

So when people say floyd is the bigger draw they mean he was the bigger b-side to oscar
