AGAIN YOU DONT ANSWER MY QUESTION... Ouma did knock down Vanes, but Ouma was a 154 world champ...but it was a flash knockdown, thats way different then being rocked by a lightweight whos best known for being brother to Cotto... if Vanes is a hypejob and sucks sooo bad then surely team Canelo must know that and would figure it would boost up Canelo's name and shut its critics mouths... surely canelo will get WAAAYYYY MORE credit for beating Vanes than for fighting Gomez regardless of how much you idiots want to contend that VAnes is nothing, if nothing else hes a viable 154 pounder respected enough by the WBC to give him the #1 ranking, the same WBC that thinks so highly of Canelo to give him a belt

Ok let's be real here. As much as I want this fight to happen for the reasons I have previously stated, it won't. Look at their promoters. Now in an utopian world where top rank fighters and GBP fighters had no impediments to fight, What makes you think Canelo wouldn't drop and hit Vanes as much as Roman did?
Yes Canelo was hurt for a few seconds, but what boxer is safe from getting hurt? I mean the guy was 19 when that happened. He went on to beat the snot out of cotto. Was it impressive? meh, not really. Is Vanes impressive at anything he does? meh, not really.

The problem is if Canelo does NOT fight either Vanes or Angulo, he is ducking both his #1 and #2 contenders and what do you want to bet he ducks BOTH?! Yes I believe he HAS to fight Angulo. There's no reason not to fight Angulo in Mexico. Even if Martirosyan is the silver champ do you honestly think GBP will let top rank make money with his cash cow? I doubt it.

I'm going to be honest here. In a perfect world where no boxer ducks another, and there are no promotional interests I see Alvarez beating Martirosyan and Angulo beating Alvarez.

Lol so many people here think they know boxers up and down I guess all these people talking about what weight classes people are in are fckin idiots man especially richard. Collazo has campaigned at 154 for his last 2 fights as well as in the past I dont ever remember him being a jr welter. Collazo would be a good fight for Canelo against a southpaw cause its not like Canelo ever fought at 147 before and moved up right? People dont always stay at the same weight. Alfonso Gomez fought at fckin middleweight on The Contender and even beat Jesse Brinkley who fought Bute at 168. Im not saying Canelo should fight him because that would be a waste of time, but some of these peoples views are ridiculous.

Vanes is a good boxer but he got a gift against Kassim looked bad against Green and went life and death with Roman. I think it would be a stiff test for Canelo and hopefully they do fight but I think Canelo would break him down and finish him off late. People will always hate, when Canelo fought Hatton they were yelling for him to fight Rhodes, he then fights Rhodes next completely dominates him start to finish, then they say Rhodes is a bum and didnt come to fight. People will always look for the next reason to dismiss someones accomplishments. It was ok for Cotto another 154 lb champ to defend his belt against a Mayorga that actually seemed dedicated in 2011, but its not ok for Canelo to do the same? Two-faced hypocrites if he fights Vanes and beats him then people will say Vanes was no one he needs to fight Angulo and this and that but none of them are prizefighters so they can do what they do best and just talk.

Also about the Cotto thing, lol Jose Cotto caught Alvarez with a good hook, but did he capitalize on it? Na he just got dominated after getting actually dropped unlike Canelo and submitted in the later rounds by not throwing any punches. Alot of good that one punch did him in the end huh? People are always going to bring up that one punch on Canelo but he survived won and did so on his first ppv appearance in the US.

Peoples expectations on fighters are crazy considering they are just fans and nothing more, they dont put work in the gym away from family and friends suffering to be at their peak and perform their best for bunch of people who could care less just want to jump on whatever bandwagon is hot at that moment. Unless its Pac or Floyd everyone is a bum and unless they perform flawless every fight their washed up or hype jobs.

vanes, mayorga, or wolak man....chavez jr was supposed to fight this guy, but then was replaced by wolak last minute, and chavez jr mysteriously got sick before fight night. i say if alvarez doesn't fight vanes or mayorga, than go after wolak, someone who wants to fight chavez jr. and he's a legit lmw fighter as well.

Kannabis - lay off the damn pot. A fighter is as good as the top fighters they beat. Collazo fought a natural 140 fighter in Hatton and a SMALL welterweight in Berto....that DOES NOT make him a 154 pound fighter! He could fight at 160 but that DOES NOT make him a middleweight, duh.
