Kannabis - Sorry child, I cant help the fact that you were born yesterday. If you cant see the Canelo hype job, then you are dumber than a box of rocks. THREE fighters are mentioned as an opponent and NOT ONE OF THEM is rated in the top 10 in HIS division!!!! Get a clue, if you have to beg, borrow, or steal one. Keep riding Canelo's rod.

Pretty soon Omar Chavez will be added to the hype job gravy train list with Canelo and Chavez and he will probably get a free pass to least resistance to a title. What do you want to bet that just like fraud's Canelo and Chavez, Omar DOES NOT fight top fighters before he fights the weakest champ?????!!

De La Hoya was down against a guy that had only won 1 of his last 6 fights, and that was when he was 20.
and this was against a 130lber. doesnt change the fact that DLH had an excellent chin for almost all his career.
plenty of good fighters go down or get hurt by lesser competition when theyre young. if anything, Alvarez getting rocked like that helped him, because now he knows that feeling and knows how to survive and win, and he wont be shocked and demolished if it happens later on in his career. it was a good wake up call.
...Im surprised at how popular a topic Alvarez is already.

""Also, you can't say that Cotto wasn't known to be a big puncher with a 79 KO percentage at lightweight."" First off, KO% does NOT indicate punching power. Cotto got the KO's from volume punching. Yet he badly hurt a guy naturally 2-3 divisions above him with ONE punch.

""De La Hoya was down against a guy.""" FYI being down does not mean being hurt. MANY fighters suffer flash knockdowns and are not hurt. Example: When Hamed first Knocked down Kevin Kelly, Kelly was not hurt. When Hamed badly wobbled Boom Boom Johnson, Johnson was HURT! On top of that, Alvarez was hurt by a MUCH smaller man.

Another thing, mentioning Jose Cotto's KO percentage is a mistake....it is WHO he got the KO's against. The 4 names on his resume went the distance and none were badly hurt and they were smaller than Alvarez. I can name a 14-0 fighter with 7 KO's who is a bigger puncher than a 18-0 fighter with 14 KO's who is not as big a puncher. KO% is inconclusive.
