Maybe some of the opposition Pac selects wouldn't have a mind set or determination like this but one would have to admit Ortiz, a young and very hungry CHAMPION is coming to fight win, lose or draw. You can count on that.

People want to discredit Ortiz but like to ignore that Mayweather technically destroyed exposed Mosley as being old. Mora validated it.

People like to ignore that ever since Margarito lost his plaster/power, hasn't looked good since beating Cotto in 2008. Not to mention being utterly DESTROYED by Mosley in 2009.

People like to ignore that the POS Clottey hasn't won a fight since 2008 vs Zab Judah.

People like to ignore that Cotto was BRUTALLY beaten and forced to quit on a knee vs Margarito.

People like to ignore that Ricky Hatton was KO'ed by Mayweather and lost his "0" to in return fire his entire team and become a coke head/alcoholic/mental midget.

People like to ignore that De La Hoya was shot and at a weight class he hadn't been at in nearly 10 years just to get a pay day.

People like to ignore that Pac ducked Nate Campbell to fight a weak paper champ in David Diaz who's done what? lol

Yet people want to point out that Ortiz lost vs Maidana 7 fights ago? Or talk about him getting a draw vs Peterson?

Do we really need to go back over all of Pac's opposition in the last few years (again)?
**** what everyone else is talking bout, this post is the truth!!

This will be a good fight and I also like how Ortiz is talking. That being said, there isn't a single boxer between 140-154 that can give Mayweather or Manny problems. These two guys are the best and maybe having their fights so close to each other means they will finally fight. Ortiz is a good boxer and showed a lot against Berto but the only guy that we all know can give Mayweather hi first lost is Manny.

I don't care for Mayweather the person, but I am very excited to see Mayweather the boxer back. Much respect to Floyd for selecting Victor Ortiz as his comeback opponent. Can't wait for this fight.
          My bad................
Saw the long post and thought it was directed towards me.
          Sorry about that.

You are out of your mind if you don't give Ortiz somewhat of a chance here. The version who showed up against Berto would be a problem for any welter today. Both Berto and Ortiz have flaws but they are also big, strong, fast, young welters. Ortiz fought fire with fire and won. I'm not so sure Floyd can do the same and it'll be pretty rough in the early going. It's been sixteen months. He is 34. It catches up with you at some point, usually when no one is suspecting it.

I'd edit that real quick if I were U.Cause I don't know where U been hiding but Martinez has those 2 shook to death of 154 right now.

It's mental and inconsistency with Ortiz. Those 2 combination are not good when you going up against someone how is as consistent and mentally strong as Floyd.

There is nothing Ortiz can do that will discourage Floyd, nothing.

However, Ortiz can very easily be discouraged by Floyd. Ortiz is very inconsistent one day he looks like an elite fighter(Berto) then the next he looks like meh(Peterson)

Ortiz has the tools, but you need more than just tools to beat Floyd. You need intangibles and I don't think Ortiz has any. showing it and doing it against Berto is one thing, showing it and doing it against Floyd it's a whole different level.

If Ortiz has proven to be mentally strong on a consistent basis then I would give him a hell of a chance. But, he hasn't proven that yet.
