I dont know about that look at it this way I was with a whole group of people who are going to watch the fight at a couple different fight parties and I was with them all at the time it was airing on saturday and not one of them watched it yet most of them are going to watch the actual fight.

How is the rating for the Showtime slots?
I DVR the Showtime edition instead of CBS.

We can try to attribute these numbers to a few things, maybe a lot people were out on Saturday night that may have watched, maybe the UFC event took away some viewers, maybe CBS didn't promote the showing as much as they should have...maybe, but the fact of the matter is mainstream America just doesn't care about boxing the way we'd like them to.

The show sucks, what do you expect? If it was 24/7 it'd get far superior ratings for sure.

All the people who thought this thing would explode and do 2million+ buys are morons.

This is gonna be less than a million buys for sure. Wanna know why? No one gives a damn about this fight. It requires hollywood experience to bring up the hype for this fight, something Showtime lacks considerably.

I'm reluctantly watching ep 3 on Showtime On Demand, this ish sucks, it feels more like something on the Discovery Channel rather than a big time big budget fight promo.

The truth is, Pac won't reach his peak viewership potential until he becomes hated. Only die hard Pac fans are interested in this glorified retirement party. Its a showcase for Pac and a cash out for Shane. As long as Pac is playing to a 90% wanna see him succeed to 10% wanna see him lose crowd, he'll just do numbers that reflect his fan base. You only double your numbers in viewership when just as many people that wanna see u win, wanna see u lose. That's why Floyd can go out there w/ similar dance partners and do better numbers. People don't just want Floyd to lose, they wanna SEE him lose. Haters are just fans that see more fun in going against the grain than with it.

seriously, the ******* "red k brigade" and most of those boxing "fans" don't want to hear that...more people know who ****ing Brock Lesnar is than know who Pacquiao is...I live in America (as do many other posters) and I have been trying to tell people that boxing means next to nothing to Americans...5 times more people give a **** about southern idiots driving cars fast than give a **** about boxing...the ****ing pinoy tried to use an episode of 60 minutes that featured Barack ***** for the first 45 minutes as "evidence" that Pacquiao is this hugely popular celebrity in the United States...mass amounts of "red k" resulted. Boxing will be so much better off once Pacquiao goes away it isn't even funny. The internet boxing community can degrade me all they want, but the fact remains that I have been and continue to watch all Showtime, HBO, and ESPN (and even garbage on local channels) boxing since before they were "fans" of boxing. I have been buying select PPVs for over a decade...I just want Pacquiao to go away so we don't have to deal with all these mutt island monkeys spamming forums on a daily basis. Red K away "fans".

these shows are targeted for the non-boxing fan not people who obsessively follow every single boxing story on the net, every single day

i watched half of episode one and turned it off, we already know these guys stories.

Unless you have a clown like Mayweather Sr. or Roger on there, it wount be entertaining, production value aside.
