Well, I am not sure if you knew this, but Pirog had the opportunity to fight on HBO about a week apart from Sergio's fight. Pirog decided not to because he was going to make more money fighting in bum fu cked egypt for more money. Does that sound like a guy who wants to desperately wants to fight Sergio. And are his handlers demanding a fight with Sergio. Because I haven't read that Pirog or his handlers are demanding to fight Sergio next. If they want the fight, you have start negotiating. If they want the fight SO bad, why haven't they been beating the drums for the fight.

And do you really think Sergio is scared of Pirog since he fought Pavlik and Paul Williams. Pirog is a good fighter, but can you say he's better than Paul Williams. Can you even say he was better than Sergio's last fight against Sergei. Pirog is famous for beating an unproven middleweight contender in Danny Jacobs. Great, good win. But all of a sudden Sergio is afraid of Pirog for beating Jacobs. Ca mon.

I doubt this fight will go happen. For all those people who claim Sergio Martinez is ducking mandatories, you have to understand that Sergio IS THE CHAMP. If Pirog or Sturm or any of these other European fighters want a piece of Sergio they should come out and get it. Sergio shouldn't have to be calling anyone out. Sergio proved he's not afraid of anyone when he faced Paul Williams, who no one wanted to face. He showed he wasn't afriad of anyone WHEN HE MOVED UP TO 160 fight Kelly Pavlik.

If Sergio wasn't afraid of fighting Williams twice, Pavlik at middleweight, and arguably the besy 154 pounder in Sergei. What make you think he's afraid of Pirog or Sturm? Do you guys have your head up you asses, or are you that damn cynical?

Sergio needs to fight, period. Whether it's against Rubio, Cotto, Williams, or Ishida, the man needs to stay busy because he's not a rich and he's not young.

As far as these morons in this forum wanting him to target Bute, Kessler, etc. That is super middleweight. Sergio is middleweight. You might was well keep going up and question Sergio Martinez for not fighting Chad Dawson.

If this fight happens, it will be garbage. Some 35 year old Japanese figher, with a HORRIBLY CRAP record, is going to fight Martinez, simple becasue said Japanese dude exposed a hyped up bum?

Martinez is not going to fight Pac, since Pac is too small. And FLoyd WILL never WANT a piece of Martinez, we all know that. So Martinez has to move up to 168 if he wants to reach the level of fame that Pacquiao and FLoyd have.

And why is Martinez repeatedly calling out Floyd and Manny, two much smaller fighters, this is a cheap move. Fight bigger guys at 168 too prove you are great, not smaller ones.

That right there is the exact same statement that Pacquiao and Mayweather fans use to justify not fighting certain fighters. I fully expect Pirog to get his shot at Martinez as long as he doesn't lose any time soon but people trying to give reasons why Pirog doesn't deserve it make people not like Martinez, same way they don't like Pacquiao and Mayweather.
