at first, i think floyd did come out of retiremnt feeling 100 % of a victoy vs pac....then came pac's destruction of hatton, his confidence reduced to around 80 %......then came the cotto destructon and that shrunk floyd's balls up to his stomach.......he's been scared of pac since then......

          The TS is 100% correct

Pac ruined the great plan of the Mayweathers and GBP

They were counting how much money they will earn already until Pac hit the face of Hatton.

When Floyd annouced his return to boxing in 2009 many thought it was to take on current p4p king Manny Pacquiao. From what has happened after that announcement took place shows maybe that wasn't really his plan to begin with.
His first fight coming back to the sport was against Pac archrival JMM, who had given Manny problems in their previous 2 bouts. A solid win over JMM could put Floyd right in hunt for the p4p title while not being much of a threat by taking on someone much smaller then himself.
Manny at the time was set to face Hatton who was being trained by Floyd's father. If Floyd's plan was to take on Pac to begin with why would you announce your returm before this fight takes place. Unless your real target isn't Pac but Hatton.
This would make perfect sense. You beat the guy who gave Pac trouble, and then you rematch Hatton in London for big money, after he beats Pac like your father has been telling you he will. As we all know this didn't happen. Hatton got laid out in the 2nd rd. Now this is where the plan starts to back fire.
Floyd decides what the hell I'll fight Pac, if he could handle JMM with such ease and Manny had such a hard time with him, Floyd's size should prevail again over the smaller man.
Then the Cotto fight happened. Manny showed he could take the punches of a bigger man and break a bigger man down. Floyd began to think this fight wasn't going top be as easy as he thought. As the chants of "We want Floyd!" echoed through the arena, Floyd knew this would be a hard fight to duck.
Just days after the Cotto fight Floyd challenges Pac to call him out if he wants a fight. Pac calls him out. Then Floyd wants the fight in March just 4 months after the tough Cotto fight, Pac agrees. Then this is where the drama begins Floyd wants OSDT untill the day of the fight Manny wants 14 day cut off then a test right after the fight. Floyd doesn't move from his stance neither does Pac, the fight gets shelved and Floyd has found a way out of the fight.
Floyd goes on to fight Shane(which I give him full credit for), put some more money in his account and has been on vacation ever since. Nothing wrong with what he did I just want people to see he didn't comeback to save boxing or face the best competition, if it was about any of these he would have a fight coming up. But it never was, it was all about the money$$$.

            Let the hate begin.
if neither of them budged on their stance then why is it that it was floyd who found a way out of the fight? it sounds so ignorant when people say that asking for testing was floyds way to duck the fight. any objective person would say asking for testing that manny could easily have agreed to would be a **** plan to get out of the fight. i doubt anyone could foresee mannys sudden phobia to testing.

Floyd Mayweather may very well have come out of retirement with no real intentions of fighting Manny Pacquiao, but his big ****ing mouth, his dodge tactics, and the shaking of his knees and quivering of his lip every time the altercation in mentioned shows that he is deathly afraid of fighting him.

That's why he made the big stink about the drug testing, that's why now he want's more money than they will ever pay him, that's why he's fighting Shane Mosley instead. If it were any more obvious it would be on a billboard in Times Square. This guy doesn't want any piece of Pacquiao. He wants to talk about being the best, than he has to prove it and fight the best.

Floyd has never fought anyone he thought could legitimately beat him, all the greats on his list he got to when they we either coming off of loses, past their prime, before their prime, or out of weight divisions where they would have been a greater challenge for him, or just not even on his level(which was the point). Sure, he's got the perfect record, but that means absolutely NOTHING at this point. Name me one person he's fought that was actually bigger than him that he couldn't push around in the ring? De La Hoya? Sure thing, and he was weeeell past his prime and still pretty much kicked his ass. When even your dad is saying that a past his prime De La Hoya beat you, you lost motherfuc*er, even if you got a shady decision in Vegas, a place that's never liked to give Oscar decisions.

He may not have come out of retirement to fight Pacquiao, but at this point he has to. If he doesn't he will be haunted by it forever, constantly wondering if he could have beat him, constantly having to question if he really was the best, and constantly having to answer as to why he never did it. That will leave it up to the skeptics and experts to draw their own conclusions and those will be that he was just a coward who didn't want to be challenged by anyone, and didn't want to fight unless he knew he could win. For that, any acclaim he gives himself will be overlooked and deemed as nothing more than puffery and a guise to inflate his own ego even though he knows it all true. Look at that mans face when he tries to talk about being "The best in the World". That's a man trying to believe his own lies, and a man who is scared to find out that the lies he perpetrates in his own head are nothing more than that. It's the face of a man who knows that the guy who can beat him is right there waiting for him, and is running and hiding in any way he can.

floyd's legacy & reputation will be ruined forever.

I hope pac forgets about him & doesnt give him the pay day that he will surely need in the future.

I agree with the initial post that Floyd came back more for the money than to fight Pacquiao. And Floyd certainly did rack up the cash after Marquez and Mosley. Now that he has cash, he certainly has no intention of getting in the ring with Pacquiao. As Richard Schafer said, "Manny just doesn't win. He hurts people".

And if Floyd just wanted to come back and make some cash, get the IRS off his back, etc. people would be fine with that. Who could blame the man for wanting to make millions if he can?

The problem with Floyd is, he also happens to call himself the best, call Pacquiao down, insult him, demean him, condensend and disrespect Manny Pacquiao. Fine. But if you talk the talk, you have to---HAVE TO-- walk the walk. And Floyd, for all his talent and pedigree, will not step up against Pacquiao. That makes him a punk.

The irony for Floyd is an interesting one. Pacquiao showed compassion against Cotto and Margarito and took his foot off the gas pedal. He is not going to show anything other than vengance toward Mayweather and really try to hurt him seriously.

Besides, Pacquiao is Roman-Catholic, he can ask for forgiveness at confessional.

floyd doesnt have a single redeemable quality in his personality. All he does is hate on other fighters & people yet his fanbase wants to act all incredulous as to why he gets hate back.
