respect to montiel, except for the part about the punch being a lucky punch... donaire timed him and knew exactly where montiel's head was gonna be.

The way he was hit most guys would be asleep for the next two rounds. That shows that he has the warriors mentality and even especially the conditioning to get up. Big props to him even though he lost.

        Props for the Zapata quote.

Montiel earned himself a fan. I never abandon a fighter after a loss like some fake bandwagon fans do. That's why I never stopped supporting Darchinyan after he also got ktfo by Donaire. Vic, like Montiel, also got back up but his legs just weren't there. Both warriors and I can't see how anybody can hate either even though Vic's the opposite of Montiel when it comes to handling the defeat.

The bantamweight division is boxing epitomized. No prima donnas and everyone's willing to fight each other and respects their fellow.

This is a good example of how a loss isn't the end of your career.

As long as you fight good opponents and always give your all then the fans will want to see you, win or lose.

Montiel is a classy fighter. He lost and admits it. Unlike the Marquez brothers who are a bunch of whiny losers

Montiel is a class act. That's how a Champion responds, there's no Superman in Earth.

I am a Filipino, and I like Montiel. He`s got a classy attitude. That`s what a true champ is all about, knows how to stand head-up when there`s a setback.

to the ones hating on Monty....WTF????

What more do you guys want the man to say??

He admits defeat, and yet you try to discredit him. TO the guy who said "loss was so lopsided, no rematch can/should occur" what a effen moron, for crying out loud!!! Do you even understand boxing?

Two filipinos do well in boxing, and they act like they've never had successful fighters before....wait, they've never had real fighters before, so i guess its ok to overreact. :wank:

                      BTW Zapata said:
It is better to die on your feet, than to live a lifetime on your knees.

                      Peace. War Monty!
